Impressive pictures..
Here in Germany it's strictly forbidden to bring Cameras into a cinema..

Posted by kaveh at August 18, 2009 03:57 AMwow...
how you got the tripod & camera set up in front of those crowd?
It's so funny, in Romanian, STRIGOI is also a word, spelled exactly like that, and probably pronounced the same, and it stands for the same thing (vampire).
This word brings back scary stories from my childhood :)
He wouldn't...that's the point :)
Posted by mehrad at August 18, 2009 07:05 AMThis is cool. This interests me because I've always wanted to take a photo like this in a movie theatre. Was this at the end of the movie, or during previews? hand held? And did you feel the need to ask the people in front first or was this just a quick handheld image standing in front hoping for the best?
My mind tends to think that something like this needs to be well thought out, but it probably doesn't.
really cool perspective.

Posted by Natalie at August 18, 2009 09:07 AMLight reflection looks good of the movie, what lens you used for this photo ..? didn't these people shout to get aside from infront ..... ;)
chao
These photos may not be fair to the audience. Ha! Who said anything about fair. It surely shows what's going on. People do get squirrely in spots like this when a camera's pointed at them. But I see you've long ago overcome any personal discomfort at this type of affair. It's a type of being on stage to take these pictures. Well done.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at August 18, 2009 02:15 PMLoved the movie Strigoi, found out about it from you actually; I've been following the blog since its inception and was delighted to find myself in this picture! Keep up the amazing pics!
Posted by Shani at August 18, 2009 07:30 PMTotally cool. I've wanted to create this exact frame, but never been able to get my camera setup for a long exposure. Each time I've been told or "politely asked" by personnel to put my camera away, stating something about bootlegs... I guess they haven't realized that good bootlegs actually capture the movie and not the movie-goers.
Posted by Daniel Seguin at August 18, 2009 10:42 PMThis is awesome. What lens did you use? and exposure settings if you don't mind my asking.
Posted by Ramin Shakibaei at August 19, 2009 12:51 AMI've been viewing your photos for about a year now, and these 2 photos are by and far your best, in my opinion on par with the likes of Weegee's "Crowd at Coney Island" http://albumcovers.toomanyvoices.com/img/weegee-crowdAtConeyIsland.jpg
Posted by Steven at August 19, 2009 01:09 AMIs this the one that has a subway really close to it and you can feel the subway as it passes?
Posted by Andrew at August 19, 2009 12:11 PMI love how you can see the red, green, and blue in the light from the projector in the top image. As always, impressive pictures.
Posted by zhaf at August 19, 2009 02:21 PMI love how you captured the stream of colored light from the projector. Very cool shots.
Posted by Laurie at August 20, 2009 09:12 AMI love it even though I am not sure about the privacy issue (a challenge for me in taking photos).
Posted by Barbara M at August 20, 2009 11:17 AMI love these movie theater shots!!!
Posted by chiara at August 24, 2009 10:45 AMThis is an amazing photograph, overall though the site is wonderful and really jars the creative side of my brain. Thanks for the great work.
