Comments: garbage city

These are great images describing the urban environment and all the garbage that comes with it. I personally prefer the colour version of the two if I were to choose...

Love the basketball hoop picture. It's sad on many levels (bent rim, garbage, no where for the kids to play). When the garbage strike is over, I hope they unbend that thing and put a net on it!

I live in windsor, where out strike just finished, and all I can say is that I'm glad our city still had dump sites, rather than leaving our trash everywhere for everyone to see.
But maybe the "out of site, out of mind" was in effect, and that's why our strike took 101 days to be resolved.

It almost looks beautiful, like some kind of ant structure.
Almost beautiful, because I can almost smell the garbage :)
Glad the strike is over, have a good smelling week :)

I just read your interview at PetaPixel. I have been a fan of your photography for a long time. I am an ex-pat Torontonian and love the city, visit as often as I can, and enjoy seeing your view of the city. It was enlightening to hear your view and thoughts in your own words.

It's finally over here in Windsor, ON after 101 long days. The mayor is still spouting rubbish but at least our trash will be picked up. Hoping your crisis ends sooner than ours did.

If the deal is ratified by the unions and city council, the garbage will begin being carted away on Friday or over the weekend. It'll only take a few days to remove it all. Normal garbage service will start up mid-week next week if not sooner.

Oh wow that is just nasty! Great images and I imagine it was tough to bear the stench.

I am glad to hear that the strike is over. That must be quite a relief to everyone!
