It pulls our eye toward them and we see their isolation as they seem to be trying to ignore each other. That said, I wonder what the man is looking at. Or is he trying to avoid the photographer? There also seems to be some ghostly people in the windows to the right of the door. This is a shot that has intersting story possibilities.

I got tired of carrying my 5D2 and 17-40 with me all the time and thought the LX3 would be the perfect alternative for everyday shooting.

Posted by Wayne Worden at June 1, 2009 10:50 AMThis photo caused a moment's disorientation for me. I lived in Toronto for seven years, where the subways are not new and are generally not well kept. Now I live in Tokyo, where there are whole new subway lines opening every two or three years, and where subway stations are not only clean they all have the yellow stripes with the bumps (as do Tokyo sidewalks).
So... thanks for the mind-bend!
