Great viewpoint. looks like something is imminent!
Posted by Amit Basu at May 2, 2009 08:52 PMpretty. the street looks so clean/glossy.
Posted by rosh at May 2, 2009 11:07 PMAwesome!
Posted by Amir at May 3, 2009 02:04 AMShiny! The old washed new! Beautiful surface light, ancient street material buffed clean, fresh promise in the emptiness of the street, in the sharpness of morning sun and cloud and in the detail of the crane, some just-goofy-enough newsboxes for colour and personality and -- followed by the parade of arches -- to offset the discipline of the straight lines; the role of the renegade blue box in defying the perspective and picking up the blue-sky-and-clouds motif:
the excellence of this photo is a lot about composition and technique, but also a lot about subject matter.
Sam, thanks for another iconic Toronto street-shot that tells a lot about cities and a lot about you.
gotta love this shot. something special and heart-warming about it...
Posted by Jessica at May 3, 2009 10:15 AMGreat light and perspective. I like the fresh and tidy look and feel of this image.
Posted by Uwe at May 3, 2009 04:13 PMThe street is paved with golden sunlight. Beautiful.
Posted by Laurie at May 4, 2009 06:19 AMThis is 'classic' Toronto, or at least a perfect image of our 'clean' city, bit I wonder what is going on in those buildings. Aside from the excellent composition, I love the contrast between the old and new buildings and the suggestion of the future as the crane is slightly positioned skyward.
Posted by Barbara M at May 4, 2009 08:32 AMBeautifull picture. i love it. I like how you framed the tram lines. and the sun light looks cool on the tarmac.
Posted by Bogdan at May 4, 2009 10:46 AMNice work all around, not only this picture, but all of them, but I've got to admit this one has something... Congratulations!
