Hey Sam! later today (Wednesday) a bunch of people (including us) are going to be bouncing on red bouncy balls in paint onto a large canvas at dundas square to promote the new Mentos gum! I'm sure that will make an interesting sight to take pictures of :) the event is from about 12 pm to 2 pm
Posted by Domenique and Tom at April 29, 2009 03:10 AMThe suburb of all big cities looks the same...
It might be somewhere in east part of Berlin, Moscow or Paris...
Trains and railways always make a good subject. And you have done a nice job capturing it. I like the colour and use of long shutterspeed.
Posted by MD at April 29, 2009 04:29 AMWow it's coming right at me. Great action shot!
Posted by Frida at April 29, 2009 05:41 AMNice sense of speed. I am struck by the number of tracks there.
Posted by Laurie at April 29, 2009 09:27 AMi stop in almost every day, don't comment but I think I need to - wow. Your images are stunning and very inspirational. They are simple in the best of ways- very much an urban geographer's photogarpher.
Thank you for sharing your work with all of us.
Posted by Vanessa at April 29, 2009 11:55 AMYeahhh.
Posted by Pop9 at April 29, 2009 03:24 PMThis is hardly the suburbs "sesega" but easily mistaken for such. Our railway lands have become heavily developed in the past 10 years but Sam's pic also includes Fort York on the left-hence just the two towers. Great felling in this one Sam.
Posted by pearpenguin at April 29, 2009 08:45 PMI love the blur of the train against an otherwise stationary background. :)
Very cool!
Fantastic shot! Super post-processing, I love it!
Posted by toronto wedding photographers at April 30, 2009 11:57 AMHi Sam There is such a stark contrast here. On the one hand, there is the painterly sky. On the other a bleak man-man landscape that has its own beauty. Your would think that the train might be a fast speed one until you look at the cars behind the engine. The photo is both universal and specific (Toronto).
Posted by Barbara Ml at April 30, 2009 12:56 PMHi again. The flickr photo has a different effect than the one on your site. I'm not sure that it is better, but the detail is clearer.
