What's a great architecture!
Funny building, looks like disney land ;)
Posted by Johannes Huss at April 1, 2009 06:31 AMWow! Very different than I expected from him. Your other photographs of his work are not like this at all. This looks ancient! Thanks for posting this.
Posted by Marilyn at April 1, 2009 08:33 AMThis is surely the most original and weird building I've ever seen
Posted by BoB at April 1, 2009 09:30 AMThat's got to be one of the funniest buildings I've seen yet. A huge oversized pair of binoculars on end, beside a huge dump truck. Hilarious. He's some joker!
Posted by Hugh Petrie at April 1, 2009 10:51 AMwow, i've never seen/heard of this building and i live in LA! beautiful capture!
Posted by alex at April 1, 2009 12:50 PMVery interesting and unusual. I have never seen this before.
Posted by Laurie at April 1, 2009 01:51 PMWow, I thought this was an April Fools joke, but it's actually real!
Posted by Jim E-H at April 1, 2009 01:56 PMif its odd ... its Frank Gehry ... i used to like this stuff, but now I'm over it!
Posted by crash at April 2, 2009 10:07 PMFun..this the now the home of DDB Advertising. I've been in this having a few friends who work there. The bldg. to the right is black now and doesnt look like that so much anymore though.
Posted by funbunch at April 3, 2009 07:43 PMWow, that is very cool. Where is this? Is it some sort of bird watching company or something? ;-)
Posted by Stock Photos at April 4, 2009 09:29 AMThis is just around the corner from where I used to live in Venice in the mid-90's. Takes up a whole LA-sized block. I remember when it was new and the copper clad building on the right was unbelievably reflective. After the dot com bust, Chiat moved out and the thing turned into a gigantic ghost ship. Glad to hear that it's occupied again.
(If I recall correctly, the binoculars are by Claes Oldenburg.)
