Great picture!
Posted by Zaven Nahapetyan at March 29, 2009 12:15 AMYay Chalkmaster!
Great pictures :)
I wonder if the advertisers will get to pay less for an hour less.
Posted by David at March 29, 2009 12:45 AMI'll have to guiltily admit, I turned my electrics back on at 9.30 too. Of course I had a few less bulbs than this!
I love the ChalkMaster's notice (and his pic is nice too), and amazing you got so much depth of field out of f7.
=) Marc
Great shoots. Will think about printing it on canvas
Posted by Victor at March 29, 2009 05:26 AMfunny enough AMC seems to have got things backwards.
Posted by d at March 29, 2009 07:25 AMThat is a beautiful thing. Earth Hour should happen more often.
Posted by blalor at March 29, 2009 07:44 AMGreat! I knew you'd document Earth Hour. I observed it with a friend in central NY small town by playing Mexican Train by kerosene lamp and drinking whiskey. Great opportunity for a variety of interactions other than watching movies.
Posted by Joan at March 29, 2009 08:16 AMDude, love the fact that "during" the mall was lit up and after it went dark. Great!
Posted by Charles at March 29, 2009 08:53 AMTerrific! My wife and I watched the chalk artist create the image, yesterday afternoon.
Posted by Robert at March 29, 2009 10:15 AMamazing photos.. this is the sam i love
Posted by Matthew Langford at March 29, 2009 01:11 PMWho gives a shit about Earth Hour? They trying to call attention for something less important than is happening ...
But the 7 reasons were the best on the shot! The guy is good!!
Fantastic idea. You've impressed me once again. Interesting how the large building doesn't appear to have participated - or as 'd' stated, they've gone backwards.
Posted by Jason at March 29, 2009 05:00 PMi'd be great to see them beside each other. It would make it easier to see the differences, rather then scrolling up and down.
Great pictures though!
Posted by wesley Yendrys at March 29, 2009 05:20 PMWhile the photos are great, it seems like a pretty half-assed effort on the whole idea of Earth Hour. Had you not included the "after" shot I wouldn't have known that any lights were actually off in the "during" shot.
Guess I can't complain since I didn't do anything. Didn't even know about Earth Hour (not really publicized here in Australia).
What's number 7?
Posted by Neil at March 29, 2009 06:40 PMI like those phantom passers-by, and the witty reasons to make a donation to Chalkmaster. :)
Posted by Kimberly Way at March 29, 2009 07:24 PMHey Sam,
Great shots!
Pleasure meeting you this afternoon.
Cheers
I turned on all the lights in my house during Earth Hour.
Real change requires a real effort, not a symbolic gesture with people sitting in the dark blogging and updating their Facebook about how they're saving the environment. Hypocrisy, much?
Posted by Glenn at March 29, 2009 09:51 PMCan anyone tell me the last 2 reasons to donate to the chalkmaster? :)
Posted by ross at March 30, 2009 04:35 PMNice urban mood. great pictures !
Posted by denis at March 31, 2009 08:38 AMWhat the heck is Earth hour?
