The best from British Leyland. Bet its got another 40 years left in it too. Errr, well maybe not.
Posted by ROB at February 11, 2009 03:46 AMoh those streets of SF...great photo!
Posted by Fernando Casals at February 11, 2009 03:53 AMThat's a Land Rover, not a Jeep! Nice photo though!
Posted by WZ at February 11, 2009 04:13 AMThat's no Jeep - it's a Land Rover!
Posted by Gromski at February 11, 2009 04:34 AMIt's actually a Land Rover. :)
Posted by Ran Siffle at February 11, 2009 04:56 AMSorry to be pedantic but it's a Land Rover, pride of Britain (but now owned by Indian company)! :)
Posted by Andy at February 11, 2009 07:51 AMalthough this is a wonderful vehicle, the land rover defender is not a jeep.
yours truly,
a jeep owner who is in a constant verbal battle with his land rover owning friend
p.s. love your photos
Posted by geekclimber at February 11, 2009 08:43 AMIt's not a Jeep. It's a Land Rover. Quite different companies and I'm sure that either would be offended if you mixed them up.
Posted by Ron at February 11, 2009 08:47 AMHow did you find the combination of an old Land-rover, and a house without bay-view in San Fransisco?! :)
Posted by Mehrad at February 11, 2009 09:50 AMThats no Jeep. Its a Land Rover Defender.

Posted by Dan at February 11, 2009 10:26 AMSan Fran is by far one of my favourite U.S. cities to visit! ... what was the though behind this photo
Posted by Ian at February 11, 2009 10:53 AMHi Sam, it is a Land Rover Defender, not a jeep, and you suck in CoD, you are just being lucky these days! :P
Posted by ila at February 11, 2009 12:07 PMhaha sorry I forgot to mention that's a really beautiful shot.
Posted by ila at February 11, 2009 12:08 PMThat's not actually a Defender, but the older Land Rover 88 - looks like a Series III, but it could be a IIa. I had one just like it.
Posted by scruss at February 11, 2009 12:39 PMI never commented b4.. always love your photos..
but like everyone else said.. that is a Land Rover!
Posted by andy at February 11, 2009 12:44 PMSorry to be picky but it's not a Defender either... It's a Land Rover Series II.
I live in SF and it's always great to see your pics of my home town. Thanks.

Excuse me, is anyone out there interested in detail? That is NOT A DEFENDER, that is a Land Rover Series 3!
Signed, know-all
I am actually sorry that so many felt the need to point out the vehicle's identification. I knew your thought and enjoyed the picture.
Posted by Glenn at February 11, 2009 07:41 PMThat's true, it's a Land Rover Series 3 88" :-)
But they do look very much alike! Only the side-blinkers and mudflaps that gives it away. But enough geek-talk from me. The old Land Rover seems very strange in the context, very nice! Beautiful dynamics as well. _f
That's a great old Land Rover...I knew someone who had an old one like that.
Posted by Laurie at February 11, 2009 10:07 PMI don't care if this car is a Landrover or a defender, but I'm female anyway ;-)
Great shot, Sam! Makes me feel happy, probably because of more colours than snow-white and icy-blue (that's my view out of the window, even in Germany...)
Posted by caro at February 12, 2009 02:08 AMHoly mother of God. You guys are a very pedantic and nitpicky bunch. This is a photoblog not a car forum. Who cares what make the car is, it's still a great shot.
