Frank Ghery always has great designs. Old and new Ghery is just good stuff. Nice photos of the elements in his design.

Posted by Brad Walters at November 14, 2008 04:56 PMThis is great picture you should draw this and put it in a art museum
Posted by Linda at November 14, 2008 07:03 PMWow, I wish I was able to go down and see it. However, I have a massive report on congestion in the downtown due on Monday :|
Stunning as always!
Posted by Kyle at November 15, 2008 01:36 AMI thought the AGO didn't permit photography. Did they give you a hard time? Did you have to sneak your photos? :) I was thinking of bringing my camera too...
Posted by LifeOnEight at November 15, 2008 02:47 AMSam, your pictures inspired me to go to AGO on Friday and stand in the long queue to see the interior. IT WAS WORTH IT! The end result is quite impressive, especially considering the modest budget. I specifically liked the usage of wood, a truly Canadian material.
It's ironic that Frank Gehry being a native of Toronto has built masterpieces all over the world except here in Toronto until now. Even now it's merely an extension to an existing building. It's so sad that so many cities in the world manage to commission large-scale projects: entire museums, concert halls and opera houses to a renowned Canadian architect like Gehry except frugal Canadians themselves.
I just wish Canadians had a greater appreciation for the Arts.
Posted by Kiana at November 17, 2008 10:49 AMI brought my camera too, but I was given a hard time - security everywhere, not permitted. But it looks like you may have had a press pass or something from the net few photos. I'm just a common folk, lol. Great shots!
