Comments: grey cars and red shirts

I admit to having virtually no knowledge about civil engineering, but on this almost overhead shot of this road pass, doesn't the sum of those thin black road repair lines, collectively appear to be actual stress marks on the plane of the road overall? One would hope it's just road wear, as opposed to structural damage to that overpass, bridge, or whatever it is. Again, look at the directional and reactional shape of those curves, viewing them collectively. Again, I'm not an engineer. Nice bit of photographic journalism Sam.

I want a red shirt. No. A grey car. No. A minivan. Light grey is fine.

Grey must be the "in" colour then ;-)

What are the odds? I do remember reading that in the earlier years of this decade silver was the most popular car colour in North America. And manufacturers were happy because it is actually one of the cheapest paints to make.

I am not an engineer either but I think those cracks are superficial. I think they are probably created by water freezing in smaller cracks over the winter months and that they reside only in the uppermost asphalt surface of the road. The tar that is added is a quick-fix to make the feel of the road smoother and to keep people from complaining. (I think)
