Comments: lone man

Was this tilt effect done in camera or in Photoshop?
Either way, you did nice job with the photograph.

He may be a lone man, but he also seems to be a little man ;-)

another photo that looks like a toy /scale model! Amazing how the camera and our eyes play tricks on us.
I like the colours here.

great shot! should it not be titled "lone man and cyclist"?

Posted by corey at May 22, 2008 08:44 AM

done through the use a quick mask and gaussian blur to change perspective i believe? unless you splurged on a tilt lens

That's nuts! It looks like a miniature rendering... That looks really great! How do you achieve that effect?

this could very possibly be the most "toy" like shot you've posted! Incredible.

I can almost see my desk from here. :)
Is this from your building? The little patio up there? I often wonder who gets to go up there.

looks like a maquette. cool

Posted by iti at May 22, 2008 11:21 AM

How do you get all these vantage points?

Posted by Andrew at May 22, 2008 12:03 PM

Interesting picture. Looks like one of the miniatures from CSI:.

OK, that's the building set I want for Christmas!

What a great bunch of buildings - they all look plastic! Excellent shot.

Excellent mini fake shot. The bright pastel colours really gives it that illusion!

It looks like a scale architectural model.

Posted by Andrew at May 22, 2008 02:37 PM

tis obviously a model of some sort, eh?

Posted by tim at May 22, 2008 04:10 PM

Sam, you've somehow made it look exactly like a model. Good work.

Posted by Kristian at May 22, 2008 04:22 PM

This is so quaint! At first when I saw this picture I thought this was like a miniature model of a city or something.

Taken with a TS-E24.

A rental, or did you take the plunge?

If you bought it, i'm excited to see more TS shots this summer.

he said in an earlier post that he rented the TS.. he should go out and get one anyone want to start a TS fund for the guy?? :)

Posted by chrissy at May 23, 2008 01:25 PM

don't wanna be an ass :P but it's really not that hard people ... just a simple blur effect :P

It seems to be not just me but this shot really looks like it is taken of a model and not a real place. Is this coincidence or a deliberate effect through editing. Either way it is very strange/cool!

Posted by Ed at May 24, 2008 11:58 PM

This piece looks like a scaled down model, not real at all. I like the effect. I find myself trying to convince this self that in fact this is a real scene.

nice job.
