Nice series! Couldn't see it in Geneva unfortunately, due to the clouds.

Excellent, very creative, at first I thought it was just a bunch of coins, keep up the good work!

Posted by Mohammad at February 21, 2008 08:10 AM

Awesome!!! WAY more info needed. How did you trip the shutter? Is this a multi-exposure on one frame? Is this the full frame? What was the interval? Is this colour?

Seriously cool, though.

Being Unique A+
Fantastic relevant theme A+
Great composition A+
Your a "straight A" student Sam!

At first I thought it was a macro shot of a screw, but then I was amazed at what it actually is!

Posted by JasOn at February 21, 2008 08:26 AM

Beautiful composition, as always. I've been a fan for over a year now and am continually impressed. However the eclipse started at 10pm and finished at 11pm yesterday!

Posted by Norm at February 21, 2008 09:01 AM

very well composed. could you explain how did you put all 36 frames together. was it a post process with PS or some photography technique?
Thanks.

Posted by Amirali at February 21, 2008 09:34 AM

just brilliant

Posted by muns at February 21, 2008 09:36 AM

At first glance, it looked like a drill bit.

My bad!

Posted by Martin at February 21, 2008 09:40 AM

do you have the collored version? does it have a redish shade?

Posted by negar at February 21, 2008 09:59 AM

Great work!

Posted by A.R. at February 21, 2008 10:09 AM

seems to me like this was the less interesting part of the eclipse. why not capture it when it was turning red?

Posted by schmee at February 21, 2008 10:15 AM

Great pic......most surreal representation of the moon ever seen!!! well done :)

Posted by Andrew at February 21, 2008 11:30 AM

i love it! i attempted to take a picture of the eclipse but it turned out very poorly. what a great idea for a pic!

Posted by Cara at February 21, 2008 11:32 AM

so I wasn't imagining it, there wans't ever a point where the right side wasn't a little bright. Good to know. Thanks for this... don't suppose you have any close ups coming?

hello from SF

hey man, this picture is freak'n awesome.
on the west coast the moon had this weird red tint to it.

awesome pix.

Posted by Shahin at February 21, 2008 01:57 PM

Beautiful.

Is it multi-exposure or was it stitched in photoshop?

Posted by asdfsdaf at February 21, 2008 02:53 PM

I tried doing exactly this last night, but we had some serious cloudage going on in Atlanta. Also, what kind of camera/lens did you use? I dont think my Rebel XTi with the stock lens makes the cut when it comes to shooting the moon.

Posted by Paul Brown at February 21, 2008 03:08 PM

Your level of creativity never seems to disappoint me, Sam.

Posted by Stan at February 21, 2008 04:06 PM

Brilliant. Can we ask for a desktop?

Posted by Eric Zhao at February 21, 2008 06:38 PM

This is a nasty effect, wish i could have gotten such a capture last night! Well done!

Posted by beebo at February 21, 2008 09:35 PM

What a beautiful collection of shots.
Thanks for sharing.

Posted by Margaret at February 21, 2008 09:38 PM

You never cease to impress. OK, I know things like this have been done before, but 36 frames, and on a perfect diag. And who cares if its cropped, its still great.

At the first sight, I was thinking a collar balls but no it a spectacular moon multi shots. Brillant! I would be interest to see this picture in colour.
