Comments: watching london

I love how this one was just 'one you forgot about'.
Great lighting for that time of day.

I went to London and took quite a few pictures of the London eye and felt they were good. After looking at this picture I fell those are at best mediocre

Looks amazing!

I just got my polarizing lens in the mail, can't wait to get some good use out of it!

Wow, a long time has passed since the last time I was astonished looking at your pictures, but this one set the clock to zero again! Beautifully sharp, with an amazing sky and perfect shades...this is a masterpiece!! If I may, I'd like to ask a wallpaper of it! Thanks!

Shot from fantastic film! Nice tones :)

Beautiful shot! Back in 2005, I rode the London Eye and took some very similar photos, but you would never know it. Between the foggy windows and reflections, the beauty I could see with my eyes was lost. You are very talented for being able to pull this off. Next time I visit, I think I'll take your advice.

Very nice one. Impressive view of london, and this glass eye really bring something.

I love this shot. There is something mundane and yet other worldly about the people in the pod.

Wonderful tones.
Great shot, as always.

I love it! It looks very futuristic, like out of a 1960s science fiction movie.

Posted by Ivo at February 1, 2008 07:44 AM

Beautiful. For a brief instant I felt like I was there and not here in this SWO winter mess.

Sam, this photo is on of the best I have seen from your blog in some months, I love it.

I go down to London at least once a year and although I have been on the London Eye, it was a few years ago before my digital photography days. I was planning on going down in summer but now I will be going early because it looks so amazing at this time of day. Wow, this photograph is amazing. What time of the year was this taken?

so awesome.

I think perhaps this is one of the best photos I have ever seen of London. Bringing together old and new, the overview and the spectacular "standing in a glass bubble high over ground perspective". Amazing! Well done! Please continue moving your back-up files! /Peter

I love this pic. Very cool shot. I was in London for business twice in 2007 and I fell in love with that city. Thanks for rekindling the feeling!

Nice capture - it's almost as if an alien sightseeing craft is hovering over old London.

Posted by Ren at February 1, 2008 11:43 AM

Very beautiful shot! It is my dream to go to London and maybe live there when I am older.

Posted by Rowell at February 1, 2008 01:47 PM

Very nice. That's a perspective you won't see too often.

very optimistic photo. the future is here.

Posted by langford at February 1, 2008 07:16 PM

That's pretty cool. I'm glad you included the people in the pod, I think that it gives it a great scale.

best shot as of recent!

Posted by jesse at February 2, 2008 11:44 AM

Very good angle! Nicely done!

Has a bit of a SciFi feeling to it. Like "how will it look like in 20 years" kind of shots. And the colors are lovely as well.....

Hard not to comment on this image. Such a beautiful composition. It gives me the impression I am there.

Another impressive image by Sam! This is photography from which I wish to learn.

This is such a magnificent perspective of London! Excellent shot!

Posted by Mark at February 5, 2008 05:17 PM

it's a FAKE,not single light showing in any of the buildings,on boats or the traffic. you can kid some of the people some of the time, but remember the smart alecks!!!
