I think what makes this is the angles, the perspective of the buildings drawing your eye upwards and the harsh lines of the shadows seem to just focus your eye on the umbrella. It takes a certain type of gifted person to see this type of photograph and not (like most of us would do) simply walk on by. I am very impressed.
