Great frame.
Love the body attitude of this black silhouette...
Very cinematographic I think...
I am a legend ? :)
Love the strong shadowy detail! Lighting is spot on, as always. Happy new year.

Beautiful shot sam. I don't understand how this is F2.2, it looks like the whole range is perfectly sharp! Is it the lens??
Posted by oliver at January 2, 2008 11:41 PMI love this photo. I saw one similar on your site a while back.
I think this would be an interesting photo in colour as well. Would you mind showing a colour copy as well?
Cheers,
Mark
Posted by Mark Baluk at January 2, 2008 11:42 PMLocal trains in Bombay stop between 1.40 am to 4 am. It is only during that time you can find a station empty like this and even then it is not guaranteed, you may find a lot of people sleeping there. At what time this pic was taken?
Posted by Navin Harish at January 3, 2008 12:49 AMSuch an interesting composition of perspective, patterns and directionality (the man walking away). This is another interesting image from which colour has been eliminated to focus the viewer's attention on the main purpose of the composition. I wish Sam had done this on b/w film, but I understand it would be inconvenient shooting everyday and going through processing/printing. Well, it would very time consuming. Regardless of the medium, I like this image very much. Another Sam's great work. (Sorry , I am not proofreading this...)
Posted by Shary at January 3, 2008 08:29 AMThat is one great photograph. It has right perspective, interesting patterns and a human factor - all wrapped up in excellent black and white technique.
