Great sharpness and amazingly striking colours... and so different to your usual kind of work!

Beautifull! I have some butterflies in my portfolio, includind that (the monarch). But unfortunately, I don't have a 105mm yet...

I just wanted to say "Thanks Sam". I've been longing for some bright and colourful nature shots. They brighten up the day. Very lovely

I see you talk about you new lens under the pics.
maybe you made a little mistake
i think your new lens is EF 100mm f2.8 not"f.8"
i am a chinese ,see your pics everyday.
love your viewpoint

I'd say that worked out well - I've been contemplating this lens myself (I used the 60mm-efs but I wanted more distance in some cases).

Wow!!! In the 2nd image, I feel I can almost touch it. Excellent job!! It feels alive :)

These got a verbal "woah" out of me when they came up. So vibrant!

There are some flowers just like those outside my office, I had been thinking of shooting them. No butterflies though.

Posted by AJ at August 13, 2007 12:32 PM

nice to see a different subject. the colors of the flowers go very well with the colors of the butterfly.

What, couldn't get any closer??

but seriously, nice pictures, great color!

Nice colours, great detail-rich shots, beautiful!

I´ve got the same flowers in my garden but not the same butterfly. Very precise macro work.

A willing and amazing "subject" that shows such inticate color and design.
I continue to enjoy my "daily dose of imagery"
Thank you

Amazing macro. I haven't seen much macros from you recently so it's nice to see some again. Great detail and colour.

Ridiculously perfect! I am particularly stunned by the lower image. You must have been very patient or ultra stealth.

I hope to see more of these close up photos here! :)

It seems that everybody else has already said the same, but nevertheless I'll say it again:
Beautiful, wonderful, indeed!
A delirium of Nature's beauty - and so well captured!
