Just a question, does it seem weird that you are taking photos of paintings? Seems like art should be observed in the natural lighting and... setting... of things, right?

Wow... I take photos of my friends but no one pays me to put them up on their walls. :)

Unsettling.

Their expressions are so empty. Their eyes gaze. No one is smilling. They look sad and tired. It reminds me of life, the part of life that does this to people, the part that drains us of joy too often. The part I am afraid I am in too often (I just can't usually see it).

It looks like a good gallary display. I am glad to see that the arts are continuing strong in TO. well captured.

there's not enough repetition in the philip glass one.

Fabulous. I've been looking forward to this exhibit - Chuck Close is one of my favs. Thanks for the preview.

does anyone else get the impression that Scott is a serial killer?

I picture this guys sitting in his basement in a smoking jacket, smearing Vick's vapor rub all over his genitals, while having a talk with Jesus, and the easter bunny about Sam's art.

Lock your doors Sam.

P.s. I am now endorsed by Vick's Vapor rub cream, so they will make an appearance in all of my comments.

I loved the show. The portraits where exceptional and revealed a personal close up view of the individual.

I am planning a unit for my grade 11 media art students. ASM30 Close is an artist to be studied and reviewed. Can't wait till Sept to see what my students will do with Close's process and portrait ideas.
