Comments: tower and paddlers

Canoeists, not kayakers, Sam! What a beauteous photo.........I feel like grabbing my paddle, jumping into the picture and joining them while the lake is so calm and under such a spectacular sky. Thanks for sharing it!

Great photo (in fact, all your photos are great, and make me nostalgic for Toronto), but that's a canoe, not a kayak. For the non-paddler, if you can't tell by the shape of the craft itself, look at the paddles: kayak paddles have a blade on each end.

Ahhh...what peace

Lovely one! Strange btw, that there isn't any camera flare while you shot this one directly into the sun. Maybe you brushed it away with Photoshop ;)

perfect

Absolutely amazing sky, and the best silhouette shot I've seen in a long time!

Those are canoeists, not kayakers! Otherwise, really nice shot :)

nice shot!

Great shot! -- but those are canoeists, not kayakers.

Posted by alice at June 22, 2007 08:19 AM

That would be a canoe they're paddling, not a kayak. Great photo though.

Posted by Glen at June 22, 2007 08:20 AM

That's a funny looking kayak... gorgeous picture though.

Posted by jordan r. at June 22, 2007 08:28 AM

The people in the photograph are paddling a canoe rather than a kayak.

Sam:

Actually, that is a canoe, not a kayak.

I love your pictures. I look in almost every day.

Keep them coming.

Posted by Renato at June 22, 2007 08:40 AM

looks cool, i like the silhouettes. but they are canoers, because they are in a canoe.

Posted by Andrew at June 22, 2007 08:52 AM

Man, you must be everywhere at all times

how do you manage to catch all these moments so perfectly??

Posted by Brian at June 22, 2007 09:02 AM

or... canoers... great shot!

Posted by Jen R at June 22, 2007 09:15 AM

Not to be nitpicking but that's a canoe, not a kayak. Love the photo though, cheers

Posted by MT at June 22, 2007 09:44 AM

I do believe that it is a canoe, not a kayak. Am I correct in this?

Posted by Gecksto at June 22, 2007 10:16 AM

Wow,that's great! A truly canadian shot :)

Posted by CB at June 22, 2007 10:38 AM

Posted by sean at June 22, 2007 10:59 AM

Beautiful image... nitpick: shouldn't that be "canoeists"?

Posted by Nicholas Woolridge at June 22, 2007 11:00 AM

You've done it again Sam! Exceptional lighting, balance and mood.
But...thats a canoe.

That picture's beautiful!
How do you do the sky effects in your photos? Your clouds and sky tones always seem so surreal!

Posted by Robin P at June 22, 2007 04:54 PM

It's really a nice shot, the tones and mood are awesome.

Posted by Mohamadreza at June 22, 2007 08:45 PM

Dang man they really caught you on that canoe thing, I don't think its that big a deal but is pretty funny.
I've been using your photos as wallpaper for months and enjoy them all, even linked to your rss feed so I get a new pic when my computer turns on. Thanks for all your great photography!

Posted by Kimberly Way at June 22, 2007 11:17 PM

that's really beautiful. you wouldnt know of any places around TO that rent canoes would you?

Posted by abid at June 23, 2007 11:46 AM

My favorite picture of yours so far! BEAUTIFUL!!!

Posted by Jawbone at June 23, 2007 06:15 PM

Solid Sharp.
The sky is down right miraclous.

(You have to be perceptive to see the kayakers look along the horizon a little to the left. See the little dot. thats them. The canoe is a distraction device meant to conceal the secret.

Okay if that didn't work then consider this, perhaps they are olympic kayakers in training, but on this particular day all they could find was a canoe.)

Posted by scott at June 25, 2007 02:02 AM

hehe. I agree with Lee. It's kinda funny how everyone, comments after comments, reminds you that it's not a kayak. :P

I love this picture. Makes you wanna get into that canoe and paddle away. Bye bye boring worklife! :)

Posted by ling at June 25, 2007 05:04 AM
