Why did you use such a small aperture f/22 for this photo?
Perfect, the combination of the amazing sky and perfect lighting on the boat, the boat in exactly the right spot. Loving this photo, with the two signs above the bike and the annoying shadow in the bottom left corner remove / clone out this would make a fantastic print, maybe even a canvas print...well done, I love this photograph
Posted by Ed O'Keeffe at June 7, 2007 06:30 AMI like the way the angle and point on the wall is similar to the points on the sail. Nice shot.
Posted by Alice at June 7, 2007 09:44 AMI love the play of shapes here.. the structure in the front with the sails on the boat.. perfect!
you have an amazing eye for these thing Sam.. and a quick shutter finger!!
Its amazing how you so often are in the right place, at the right time.
I love the balance and mood of this very peaceful picture. Thank you.
nice....love the boat and the sky
I'm thinking the pic could have been much better with only the boat and the sky.
Like the framing with the boat exactly fitting.
Posted by unplug at June 7, 2007 01:30 PMpersonally, i like the signs and the (wall?) - my favourite images are those of everyday moments captured at the right time, which makes them magical.
the boat and the sky almost seem surreal. yet for most people, they would just walk straight on by without noticing it.
thank you for bringing the beauty out of such normal moments out.
Posted by fel at June 7, 2007 02:42 PMGreat Photo. The ship is captured so perfectly, it draws to mind the image of a painting.
This is another reminder of why I miss the summers in Toronto so much. Of all the cities I have seen in the world few have matched Toronto.
Over here in Japan the humidity spoils the summer. But come the winter I'll have another tale to tell.

Posted by Naimi at June 7, 2007 08:27 PMInteresting composition, good sharpness. I like it.
Posted by Rodion at June 8, 2007 02:04 AMCan you adjust the background a bit. I think you missed the opportunity to call this "Boat, bike and plane" The geometry works, the whites work, the theme works...? E.
