wow!
Posted by mahan at May 31, 2007 02:45 AMReally nice! Almost made me dizy looking at it.
Posted by Photos of flowers from Sweden at May 31, 2007 03:58 AMWow, that's a nice building. Sam, I've never been there but Toronto looks like a heck of a nice place seen through your lenses !!!
Posted by Ben at May 31, 2007 05:04 AMtoo good :-) very impressive and imposing building :-)
Posted by Jeet at May 31, 2007 06:09 AMSweet shot! Looks like you lined up on it perfectly. Love that you can see the beams of light coming out of the illuminatory lights on the left side of it.
Posted by Joe at May 31, 2007 09:14 AMThis building reminds me of the flat iron building in New York, NY.
When did you take this? Was it close to sunset or was it just a a really overcast day? I like the way the sky looks like the concrete of the street.
Posted by William at May 31, 2007 09:22 AMWhy are these flatiron buildings so romantic and urbane? Somehow they capture the essence of the best of city life.
This beautifully-coloured shot, with the solitary rather elegant man, perhaps in the early morning, seems to be the first panel in a story . . . maybe by F. Scott Fitzgerald, maybe Sam Javranouh . . .
i was in your city
two weeks ago
and hit the streets
every chance i had.
(stayed in cabbagetown)
this is one i passed by
and thought:
how beautiful; looks like the old
Chrysler building in Manhattan.
nice photo. i like the sky. although it is really distorted at the bottom.
Posted by Andrew at May 31, 2007 11:22 AMnice shot.. a bit soft at the bottom but great perspective!!! Did I mention I want that lens!! haha
Posted by Brian at May 31, 2007 12:01 PMCheap parking for the ACC! I always park there and walk over, beats $20-25 at the Rink!
Posted by Sam at May 31, 2007 12:23 PMThat building has a huge hole in the side of it where the lights are. It looks pretty ordinary until you see the side..whoa.
There is a smaller, original flatiron building just down the street
I wish that crane wasn't there. :| It's an amazing photo though.
Posted by Ian at May 31, 2007 02:23 PMHoly sh*t.
Awesome.
wish the focus was crisp all the way through...but this is a really cool building and pretty great shot of it. We have one of these "wedge" or pie slice buildings here in Dallas, TX, too. Not as big as this...but neat.
Posted by Pixels.In.My.Head at May 31, 2007 04:02 PMlooks like flat iron bulding from New York, sure that style is around before here. it is one of my fav buldings around. keep up the good job!
Posted by ellie at May 31, 2007 07:44 PMvery cool
Posted by scott.co.jp at May 31, 2007 09:47 PMBeautiful shot! The wide angle and perspective really gives the feeling of how tall the building is. Nicely done!
Posted by Alice at June 1, 2007 09:50 AMThanks for the beautiful picture of my home. We live on the north (left) side about half way up.
For those of yous who have just discovered the building... take a walk by and look at from different angles....
from Yonge in between front & esplanade, it can look like an impossibly thin sliver of a building.
from University & front it looks like a huge docked boat (esp at dusk)
and from behind... well she does have a huge butt.
I'm trying to enjoy its facade on its own for as long as possible since the london lofts & the L-tower in the next few years block its beauty.
thanks again sam.
a.
Oooh !! Awesome shot. I like the perspective. I love this site :)
Posted by Mythili at June 1, 2007 03:33 PMSame old stuff you always post... Just because you own a camera does not make you a talented photographer. Just give up.
Posted by Grey Goose at June 3, 2007 04:23 PMTransfixing.
