WOW. I've been following your photoblog for about 6 months and haven't made a comment yet...but this photo warrants one for sure. It genuinely touches my soul. It's not everday you come across something like this. Simply beautiful.

Wow. I have been looking at this page for at least half a year. I even have it set to be like my homepage instead of google for example. When I opened my internet today I was shocked. This image is soo beutiful. I cant stop looking at it. I even rearranged my whole desktop which is like my life so that it the ink would not be touched by a folder as my background. I have never commented before though I have loved many a picture. Today I loved this soo much I was moved to comment. I think that says something about the quality of this picture. I aspire to be able to create an image like this some day. Thanks

Wow!

omitting the border has made the pic more beatiful in the page.

Posted by Kamira at April 27, 2007 03:03 AM

Ah, very cool! It looks a bit similar to smoke, but much fuller and concentrated. Very interesting!

Nice one! I really like the lush colors.

Oh btw, still got one change to make on the Netvibes module. Nothing big: Got to change the title so it can handle long descriptions of the picture.

Great capture!

Posted by Harlequinpan at April 27, 2007 11:38 AM

the top half of the ink drop looks like a woman's face gazing (in the direction of the right corner of the photo) at something her hands. Ink drops in water are like clouds.
beautiful shot.

Posted by lola at April 27, 2007 11:40 AM

dopeness!

Posted by Rae at April 27, 2007 11:48 AM

Wow! Till now I thought one could produce that wonderful pictures only with computers. Please, please provide a wallpaper version of that picture in an accurate resolution :). Thanks a lot.

Posted by ion at April 27, 2007 12:07 PM

how the heck do you these wonderful things !?!??

Posted by Crash at April 27, 2007 12:39 PM

Perfect switch of subject matter. I can see the basis of a few animal images in this. Even without noticing that element it has a pleasing effect.

Again your eye notes a moment worth remembering.

An ink blot as the begining of a painting is a common trick. Especially nice when the ink blot is particularly good to begin with. Now ink in water could be a new approach, using the fixed photo image to paint from.

Posted by Hugh Petrie at April 27, 2007 12:47 PM

Wow, that is an amazing shot!

Is it possible to get this as a desktop image?

Cheers,
Thomas

Posted by Thomas at April 27, 2007 01:07 PM

How did you get the pure white background?

Posted by Avery at April 27, 2007 01:21 PM

Posted by Vlad at April 27, 2007 03:28 PM

Simply phenomenal!!!
After viewing your site every day for about a year and a half, this is the most abstract creation I've ever seen to date. This needs to make its way in a gallery!
It reminds me of looking up at clouds as a kid, where you see a subject. I see a unicorn!
Keep em comin!

Posted by paul at April 27, 2007 04:54 PM

This is absolutely beautiful! How did you get the white background if it were underwater? This is so different from your usual work, but I love it just as much if not more. Could we see more of this, or the video or something?

Posted by Alana at April 27, 2007 05:27 PM

> WOW sam, you amaze us everyday with your photos,
> now just HOW did you shoot this one?!?!?!

Take a black background, drop ink in water. Shoot some pictures :) and invert your picture in photoshop (STRG+I), change color (STRG+U) and enjoy. you can use same workflow with smoke.
