Wow that wide angle lens really did a nice job on this photo. I really like the fact the lines are all aiming for the top of the spire.

Every detail is so perfectly balanced. The electrical wires drive me nuts on photos but I didn't even notice them in this one until I took a second look. Great work.

Ok, Sam, I've waited for everyone's posted comments on this photo today to get processed/approved/passed over to the site. And so far, NO ONE has asked for the name of the church!!!

Usually several people ask detail questions like this before the comments show up, esp. since not every visitor to this blog lives in or is so familiar with Toronto to know right away!

So which lovely old downtown Toronto church is this, Sam? And to what edifice do the gates belong to from which the shot was composed??

Curiosity is piqued . . . . . . Admiration is HUGE as always. Great shot!

I like this photo and the trees. But some things distract form the church hidden behind the tree branches; namely, the parked car, the telephone lines running across the pic, and the building in the background.

Great shot despite the power lines that always seem to get in the way. I've lost count of how many shots I've taken where I ended up cloning out the power lines. :-) Great composition and framing. Very nicely done.

A lovely portrait of the lovely St. Paul's Cathedral (Anglican). You've got everything wonderfully balanced, Sam - except of course, for the condo, but please don't encourage them to build another one to match it!

Heya Sam, great pic - however, it's St. James (Anglican) Cathedral, and not St. Paul's. Cheers.

Posted by Alistair at April 24, 2007 10:33 PM

St. James, yes?

I love the sky

I can't believe this church has a face. Just above the door a face with praying hands. I am sure from any other angle you wouldn't even see it. Amazing
