Comments: birds over field

The birds in the sky are great! Without them picture would not be that good.
Perfect shot :-)

oh, what beautiful composition and colors! And I like the birds here.

Posted by Lucca's at April 12, 2007 03:38 AM

That is a very nice one!
The structure of the field, the unmovable, rusty hut and leaving all brown and gray behind, the birds, flying into the light…
Wish I could fly…!

Great choice of color. A barren land highlighted by sepia color plus BW for sky making stormy weather more dramatic. The isolated shack to emphasize solitude. With such scenario is no surprise that those birds start migrating.

I love the colours in this.
&&the geese in the background.

are the birds flying?

south?

Good composition! In my opinion, i like more the objects/elements in right that left!
nice shot.

Excellent timing. They are in a perfect "V". This is a great composition.

Fantastic Sam, the light is amazing and I can see why you stopped. Just noticed the geese, wow, you got everything in here.

Something neat about this shot... the flying geese, the empty field, the lone shack. Nice pastoral shot.

Great shot, as always. Wallpaper size?

Posted by BD at April 12, 2007 09:23 AM

this is a great photograph ... I love scenes like this. Very comforting to know that there are some parts of this world that do not have a McDonalds on the corner.

Posted by beebo at April 12, 2007 09:31 AM

Wow! Great lighting and lovely composition.

Posted by Kent Blumberg at April 12, 2007 09:35 AM

i like this shot. on the sky the birds and on the ground this old little "house"

Posted by Florian at April 12, 2007 09:47 AM

So was that Geese going north or south? Sure is a moody shot and the shack puts an odd lonely sense to it. I like it.

Posted by Hugh Petrie at April 12, 2007 10:04 AM

love the added touch of the birds up top

Posted by tyler at April 12, 2007 10:15 AM

Bonjour,
Beautiful sharpness and tones! Bravo!

Posted by jelb at April 12, 2007 11:12 AM

Oh! This is glorious! I love the echoing golds and grays and how the returning geese in "v" formation are almost hidden, but there, harbingers of spring. What a fantastic photo! Thank you!

Posted by oneiopen at April 12, 2007 11:29 AM

oh, nice shot... you see the right thing, it's very graphic i think :-) cool

Posted by Jump at April 12, 2007 11:45 AM

Wow, I think that is one of your most powerful photos! It's great!

Posted by Sara at April 12, 2007 12:13 PM

It was only sort of cool, until I noticed the title, and then the birds, and now it is very cool.
nice one Sam.

Posted by Louis at April 12, 2007 12:20 PM

The atmosphere is captured very well on this picture. However, I had to look twice to see the birds ;)

Posted by Michael at April 12, 2007 12:39 PM

Okay, that's just very cool. The lighting is so unusual, and the timing just right with the birds in a V-formation. Nice one.

Posted by Kimberly Way at April 12, 2007 01:01 PM

if that's an outhouse, it's a very remote outhouse! nice job capturing the gray skies and the flock of birds

Posted by Crash at April 12, 2007 01:36 PM

you never fail to communicate (create?) the most poignant moods... this picture could be the subject of hours of classical analysis. so good. what a talent.

Posted by mama meza at April 12, 2007 02:23 PM

awesome. I love the clouds and the tint of the sky. kind of like a scene from twister! :-D

Posted by Meg at April 12, 2007 02:38 PM

great shot. the birds in the background make the shot. although i think you should have waited a little longer until they were in the middle of the frame. I guess its something you noticed after the shot was taken. Nonetheless its still an awesome photo.

Stunning.

Posted by kalki at April 12, 2007 08:26 PM

Haunting! Absolutely brilliant! If you look at the clouds hard enough, they almost look like they're slowly moving across the screen.

I love your work, Sam. You're truly an inspiration.

Salam.
