I like the colour in this one, not completely night, lights everywhere...cool picture :)
Posted by Jump at April 15, 2007 07:31 AMAbsolutely fabulous, Sam. I would have thought the whole technology of digital imaging would need to have advanced beyond its present state to produce imagery of this quality. It amazes me to see what can be achieved by the photographer. To me, this image transcends the merely visual; a few moments with this image, and I can hear and smell and feel the atmosphere of that whole area. Well done, and thanks for sharing it.
Surely this image should be a part of "volume 2"; if so, I want to order two copies in hard cover right now.
Nice timing. Right place at the right time. A hard balance to get for a shot like that. Simple looking but magical light.
You surely do work at this, Sam.

Hello, I have been enjoying my subscription to your site for about 1 month or so, I like how it appears that you carry your camera EVERYWHERE you go, and you live in an area that is rich in points of visual interest. I recently put down my 350D in favor of a 30D which i love more than life itself. I mated it with a 17-40mm f4L lens and its been a truely eye opening experience. Wonderful work. Cant wait to wake up everyday to see more!
Posted by Rolando Petit at April 15, 2007 02:46 PMA torontonian! I was born and raised there and miss it everyday. I just stumbled across your blog and there is some really great work here. This is a shot that a lot of people would maybe take but not many people could make work. It captures how alive Toronto can feel but also how quiet it can seem as far as cities go. I'm glad I found you and look forward to checking in often.
Posted by Patrick Adams at April 15, 2007 04:13 PMYou know exactly "when" should photos must be taken.
That colours... awesome.
Posted by knithx at April 15, 2007 05:04 PMBonjour,
Well done tones and lighting..Bravo!
I'm not sure why but I thought this one was taken at dawn; I guess it has this kind of relaxing new day kinda feel. good job!
Posted by Nitsa at April 15, 2007 07:14 PMthis is a very straightfoward photograph, but i find it very appealing. the perspective, the lights, the movement. nice :)
Posted by Serena at April 15, 2007 08:35 PMHey! I just shot that same intersection, from that same corner yesterday afternoon. I like the lighting here, it's that crossover from day to night that only ever lasts 60 seconds before it completely changes.
Posted by Kimberly Way at April 15, 2007 09:29 PMAnother amazing shot.

Posted by Lx at April 16, 2007 06:28 AMAwesome shot.
You always amaze me with your "everyday" shots like these. Somehow you seem to have the ability to have it look like more than just a snapshot as you walked down the street. I can't quite seem to pull that off. You make things seem effortless. Wonderful job!
Posted by Alice at April 16, 2007 10:06 AMWhat can you tell me about this magnificent looking building? It just screams of history.
Posted by Jonathan at April 16, 2007 05:16 PMThese are my favorites. The perfect time of day to be taking pictures. The juxtaposition of the cool blue sky to the warm yellow lighting below is soothing more than jarring, held together by the middletones that seem to go either way. Nice shot.
