Comments: porsche and staples

Nice colors but the first car looks wierd.

I'd love to see a tutorial on how you processed this, similar to the silo reflection one.

Nice contrast man!

ugh. i hate this image. the color composition is nice, but the subject is just ugly-- the gross staples building, the disgusting carscape... it's views like this that make me want to close my eyes when i walk places. i know it's cliche-- but i definately prefer beautiful photography.

You make digital images really special with your treatment. It is always a pleasure for me to look at.

VVVRRRRROOOOOOOOAAAAAAMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm........ Love the cars! Oh, ehr a nice shot anyway...!

Awesome sky and colors. But the red Porsche in the front is awfully distorted! Looks almost like a Mini! ;-)

This is basically a Staples Ad. Been busy lately? where are your more experimental shots? No offence, but I've *seen* Toronto before...

Posted by JVL at April 6, 2007 09:36 AM

I'll take the silver one please!

Posted by Nate at April 6, 2007 09:39 AM

Nice perspective.

I believe it is at this corner where the first Parliament buildings in Canada or Upper Canada once stood.

Isn't it hard to imagine that there are these buildings sitting there without even a historical plaque to explain the historical significance of this site?

I guess you know you're a geek when the Staples sign makes you go weak in the knees instead of the car.

Posted by Peruby at April 6, 2007 10:14 AM

This would really be a pretty boring photo without the 3 Porsches in a row, and definitely boring without the wires overhead. It just makes the shot look dramatic. More of these please, and less of the back alleys! You do a great job with natural lighting. Good catch with the red-on-red Porsche vs. Staples.

Hey,

I wanted to thank you for all the photos you publish. Great work. It's a real pleasure watching them.

Best regards,

Love clouds that explode like that. Makes me wonder what sort of wind motion does that when I see it.

Ah! The Porsches are definitely desirable to buzz around under any clouds - or sunlight. Nice excuse to photograph the sky.

Is that a dealership or did you just get lucky?

Posted by McEgan at April 6, 2007 12:11 PM

nice

great clouds and lines

I always like the clarity of your photos. I have the same camera, what color, contrast, & sharpness settings do you use?

Posted by Brent at April 6, 2007 03:14 PM

Is that Staples' visitor car park or staff?

Even the most random things make fantastic photos. It's great to see a view of Toronto everyday in my Bloglines, it's a great city. I should make the 20 minute drive more often :)

My lord I love that 10-22mm. I wish it wasn't so insanely expensive. My Kit lens of my XTi is really getting limiting and looking at your photos really makes me want that wide angle zoom! :)

I absolutely love your work. You have one Helluva an eye. Fanatastic shot with great drama as usual.

Also check out number 31 if you get the chance on my URL.

It's actually Front at Parliament, facing west.

Posted by David at April 7, 2007 10:27 AM

Some kind of Porsche garage here maybe?

I count six..

Posted by Ross at April 7, 2007 08:34 PM

Would be better if it was Porsches and Staples as I can see about 8-9 of them here. Nice sharp colours and such a magnificent sky as usual.

Posted by Payam at April 8, 2007 03:05 AM

whoa, is that porchse in the front really that shot (or snub nosed if you'd prefer)? or is it the lens?

Posted by drew at April 8, 2007 03:58 AM

Great picture... the clouds look like cotton!

Posted by Sebo at April 8, 2007 09:26 PM

Two sport porsches, two volvo's, two wires, two lines on the sidewalk, two lightpoles, two towers in the background. Lots of twos, and I don't know if this "two" composition was intentional or not. However, I think you had much more interesting shots before. This would make an interesting stock photograph, but I don't foresee many people interested in buying a print of this one to hang in their cozy homes.
