Great shot! I can see the affect from the super-wide angle lens at the lower portion of the photo, gives it a dramatic effect. Also, great lighting on the top of the building! looks surreal..
Posted by James Biehl at April 4, 2007 12:49 AMAmazing as always. Seems like a wide angle lens was used here. What lens did you use?
Posted by navin at April 4, 2007 01:31 AMwow...really nice
Posted by mel at April 4, 2007 01:46 AMThis photo stands out magnificently ! The buildings and the clouds make this shot dramatic and elegant ! Well done.
Posted by Kheoh Yee Wei at April 4, 2007 02:35 AMsome place to wait for a street car ;) I especially like those distorted people at the bottom of the photograph.
Posted by Susie at April 4, 2007 02:35 AMAbsolutely fabulous :))
Posted by sari at April 4, 2007 05:50 AMVery good composition! I like the perspective, colors and the right/left towers!
Posted by Osiriums Ventaka at April 4, 2007 06:33 AMHoly crap that is wide.
Posted by Sean Galbraith at April 4, 2007 07:26 AMvery good! i love such this picture. Go ahead ... :)
Posted by Mostafa at April 4, 2007 07:48 AMThis is a really fantastic view. Excellent tones and although it's dark, I like the lighting.

Posted by Lx at April 4, 2007 08:43 AMWhat an imposing buildings...I like the antithesis here, the old stands next to new one.

There are plenty of other people out there.
Posted by jumi at April 4, 2007 09:33 AMI like what you did with the shadows in this one better.
Posted by Nate at April 4, 2007 09:36 AMThat corner is amazing for taking photographs. A diverse set of buildings make for some sore tilted necks. It's even better on a nice summer day with some clouds on a deep blue sky reflecting off some of the glass buildings.
Posted by Pirana at April 4, 2007 10:37 AMhappy anniversary sam!
it's been 2 years since I first found your photoblog, and it's been a huge source of inspiration every single day!
keep it up!
Payam.
Posted by payam at April 4, 2007 11:05 AMNice perspective. Almost makes me dizzy! :-)
Posted by Alice at April 4, 2007 11:28 AMI think I like this one even more than yesterday's image. The view isn't as dramatic, but the building straight ahead of you looks as though it's falling backwards. Really cool effect going on here.
I also like the dichotomy of the U-Haul versus streetcar. Good luck U-Haul!
Posted by Chad at April 4, 2007 11:30 AMtall people. nice sky.
Posted by Andrew at April 4, 2007 12:17 PMWow...gave me a stiff neck.
What lens did you use for this? Nice capture!
I like this one a lot. Long time lurker, first time commenter. I'd buy this as a print. Nice colors.
Posted by Scott at April 4, 2007 01:52 PMLove the detail on the building, even towards the stop stories. The lighting is very dramatic too. I shot this with a Holga, but it's not quite the same effect. :)
Posted by Erinn at April 4, 2007 02:19 PMThat is incredible. I swear the intersection looks more impressive in this photograph than it does in real life!
Posted by Kimberly Way at April 4, 2007 02:44 PMBeautiful old building...
Posted by Erik at April 4, 2007 03:40 PMGood shot.
Posted by alexandru savu at April 4, 2007 04:04 PMThe tones in this image are fantastic... Wonderful shot!
Posted by Justin at April 4, 2007 07:21 PMAmazing.
Posted by François Angers at April 4, 2007 07:53 PMits amazing how you can pull so much detail out of such a high contrast scene. you must be using some serious "dodging" techniques (or its equivalent)!
Posted by jesse at April 4, 2007 09:27 PMwow. lighting at the top of the building is amazing.
Posted by Toya at April 5, 2007 12:48 AMMy new background!!! It makes a very nice background actually... set as background and "Center" it and then make the background black. I love it!
Posted by James Biehl at April 5, 2007 12:49 AMHAHA. I used to work in that skinny little building!!
Posted by Matthew at April 5, 2007 07:39 AMgreat drama from that perspective. beautiful building too.
Posted by ed at April 6, 2007 07:26 PMPERFECT!
Posted by leova (↑) at April 9, 2007 02:05 AMThe distortion in the corners is so interesting - great effect for a shot like this.
