what a wonderful mood you caught with this pic!

Wonderful colour-treatment in here. The overall composition is good, I love the 2 Dimensions you created with for-and-backround.

I like this alot more than your other versions of the pier. Great colors as always.

very nice composition, nice color.

Awesome, cold but lovely.

Terrific image. I love the processing! Although the expansive sky is beautiful, I think I might prefer it with a more traditional, or even square crop (my monitor's limited size is making me look at it this way). Regardless, its great.

Been lovin your photo's of Brighton, I live there/here.... but was bemused by this one... how on earth have you made a summers day look so dark ?

Posted by Andy at February 20, 2007 07:35 AM

Again, the colours work well. The detail is brought out nicely. Good processing as usual.

Sigh...a lot of people are posting summer scenes to try and usher out the cold Winter and usher in the Spring and Summer. Beautiful.

Looks cold.

A shot of the nude beach on Toronto Island might be an interesting contrast - now that the nudes are gone and the beach is 'clean', if frozen. (Or did that nude beach trip die? Not being there leaves me info starved. - And I'm not really against that beach - I just think it funny.)

Gorgeous photo. First time I visit here. Greetings from Istanbul.

Kind of going overboard with the desaturated blues, aren't you?

Congratulations. One the beautiful and poetica photo.

This is a great image with a superb composition :

The position of the women and pier, the sky over 2/3th...

And the colortones...

WOW !

very good one! really like slightly muted colors and composition..two girls fit greatly! thanx for sharing

Lots of interest going on here - from the course sand and the two girls in front, all the way up to the stormy-looking sky. Interesting mix!

I also suspected that this picture had been desaturated but I don't mind that at all. I believe that a photographer can be more than just a capturer of images and is allowed to be an artist as well, having license to manipulate images. After all, what is Photoshop for? Should we remove the application from our PCs in case we alter a photo? Anyone can take a photo of something and leave it alone. In that case the camera, an electro mechanical device, has done most of the work, except for framing, angle etc. The editing process gives us an opportunity where our creativity can come into play and we can put more expression into our works. Anyway, I think your site is about visual experiences and I like the experience of this one. I particularly like the mood that you have created here. I must also say that the inclusion of the two girls is spot on! Cheers,

It was actually quite warm in Toronto today. I was very surprised when I walked out the door in the morning. Great picture!

Thanks for posting large pictures... Those of us with large monitors appreciate them :)

The desaturated blues is obviously intentional here and I also do not think it's overboard. The fact that there are only 2 people at the beach, make this seem like a distant memory that one would remember with less clarity and saturation of colors.

As though maybe you were one of only 2 people on the entire beach. That's what this scene reminds me of and it takes me to a cool place.

Something bleak about these stone beaches, at least to me, is well captured here.
