Posted by Mr.Rizgul at January 10, 2007 01:54 AMthat picture is so nice, i've been to places like that and you've certainly captured the moment
Posted by Lindsay Neufeld at January 10, 2007 02:03 AMI love this. I saw a lot of similar scenes in Spain - cobblestones, folks just hanging out, and scooters, everywhere scooters.
Posted by MarkDM at January 10, 2007 02:07 AMloving the composition
Posted by PUJA at January 10, 2007 02:49 AMGreat texture on the buildings. I love how the alley brightens up as the eye looks further.
Posted by Sean at January 10, 2007 04:49 AMSam whats wrong? Your images are way off in contrast and saturation! I used to look to ddoi for inspiration, now I look away!
Posted by Hitesh Sawlani at January 10, 2007 06:46 AMGreat composition
Posted by navin at January 10, 2007 07:25 AMSeems like a nice and friendly place :-)
Posted by Thomas Solberg / Project neXus at January 10, 2007 07:28 AMThis is a very appealing photo. I really like the composition.
Posted by Laurie at January 10, 2007 08:58 AMThe highly polished Vespa scooter in the foreground against the stone of the buildings and street makes this a perfect contrast of the old and new. With the people a perfect shot.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at January 10, 2007 09:34 AMVery nice. I love the textures in the stone walls and the street. Great capture!
Posted by Alice at January 10, 2007 09:45 AMI like how it has old looking bricks with something new in the photo with the scooter like it doesnt belong there but its there, like its poppin out of the photo. Same with the people. But the focus isnt on the scooter or else it would pop out more....
Posted by Nicholas McCroy at January 10, 2007 09:46 AMHello Sam.
I've followed your blog for a while now, and I must say - I like these pictures with a story!
Just invested a Canon 400D, maybe I'll get a photoblog myself one day :-)
Posted by Haakon at January 10, 2007 10:09 AMnice, i like the warm tones and the bike in the foreground.really cool photo.
Posted by Andrew at January 10, 2007 10:12 AMLove the composition Sam, an every day view but captured perfectly.

Posted by Chris at January 10, 2007 03:23 PMHey sam, I just saw you at #4 on Yahoo!'s "The 9" for today. They used your time-lapse of the parking lot, it was pretty cool to see you out there, congrats!
Posted by seanc at January 10, 2007 04:06 PMLove this photo. I've always wanted a scooter:)

Posted by phil tamarr at January 10, 2007 06:44 PMGreat perspective on this one. A vespa... this is Italy! :)
Posted by Djiwôm at January 10, 2007 07:25 PMNice composition, Great angle.
Love the picture.
Great framing, Sam
Posted by Sean Galbraith at January 10, 2007 10:02 PMSuch an Italian shot! Excellent eye.
Posted by Tara at January 10, 2007 11:38 PMI just love this shot. The juxtapositon of the four ladies with the Vespa on either side of the door is fantastic. Great warm undertones in the vertical stone walls! Like so many of your photos, it leaves me wanting a monitor bigger than 17", so that I can see the whole composition at once! :)
Posted by Kimberly Way at January 10, 2007 11:44 PMNice picture, typical italian style!
Posted by Dennis M Stamm at January 11, 2007 05:30 AMAs an amateur photographer, I have to ask: how are you able to achieve such depth of focus with the stated aperture of f4?
Posted by Darryl at January 11, 2007 10:05 AMThere's a warm and peaceful sense of familiarity to the photo. Just brilliant!
Posted by Husain Tamimi at January 12, 2007 01:08 PMI love how you've captured the conversation with the women! It's so beautiful!
