Awesome Shot!
I've always enjoyed long exposures like this.

Posted by Jones at January 6, 2007 02:11 AM

Very cool

Great shot, Sam! You like the wide angle 10-22, don't you!!

Posted by Mohamed Somji at January 6, 2007 04:44 AM

I enjoy with long time exposure shots!!! Great shot!

Posted by Jordi Anton at January 6, 2007 05:55 AM

Fantastic Sam!

How long did you leave the shutter open for this one? Doesn't look like anyone turned left either which would have messed it up, eh?

Posted by Chris Nolan.ca at January 6, 2007 06:28 AM

That is one outstanding picture. It's just stunning.

Very good night shot! Goog lighting in background too!

Posted by ositaka at January 6, 2007 07:57 AM

Photo's like this have been done a zillion times but this one really appeals to me. I like the scene and I especially like the tints in the lines from the headlights.

You make me want to try to make one too!

Another great shot sam keep up the good work.

The road seems to take up too much space here, it will turn out nicer if u stand at the crossroad instead. Just dress like a traffic cop next time and you probably won't get honked at.

I've been to a lot of concerts (free ones!) in this building and looked at it from the outside many times, but this is the first time I've really seen it — or at least the first time I've really seen "the point."

nice shot great way to get the cars out of the way.

Posted by Andrew at January 6, 2007 02:20 PM

Great shot Sam!! I love the way it picks up all the vibrancy of that intersection, and of the opera house itself!!

Posted by Henry at January 6, 2007 03:17 PM

Wow I really like this one! Definitly Poster material! Keep up the good work~!

Now we're getting back to why we come to the forum - great shot.

Posted by Adam at January 6, 2007 08:12 PM

Bonjour,
Very well done! Great photo! Bravo!

Posted by jelb at January 6, 2007 08:15 PM

Great photo. Do you lug around a small tripod or something? My practice with long exposures is difficult considering I don't have a tripod and I have a nasty bit of hand shake. anyways I think most tripods are cumbersome so if you maybe I had any knowledge of better ones, I'd appreciate an e-mail. Thanks!

Great shot, Sam! As always, you do great work!

Posted by Alice at January 6, 2007 11:16 PM

Hey that's a great street shot. All the motion blur really generates lots of interest in one frame. The building up across the road looks pretty awesome. Cheers!

Waouh... beautiful, just simply love it :x

Posted by Malabar Princess at January 7, 2007 09:16 AM

I second that! Please, a wallpaper version. Fantastic!

Posted by Ben at January 7, 2007 02:02 PM

A digital camera is definitively the best helping tool for night photography. You teach that.

I love how you make the lights look like spangled stars. It's amazing how you make a dreary Toronto intersection look like a dazzling corner in New York or Chicago.

Posted by Gloria at January 7, 2007 06:15 PM

Wow. I often think your photos look much better than the real thing... how do you DO that?!

Posted by Kimberly Way at January 7, 2007 10:17 PM

I see you are making good use of your 10-22. This is a particularly interesting shot to me. Great tones, Sam.

Posted by Abe at January 8, 2007 02:01 AM

I like the trail of lights. Add a lot of character to this shot

Posted by navin at January 8, 2007 02:14 AM

Love the light trails. I can never get enough of them. Nice job on this.

Posted by Jack at January 9, 2007 12:34 AM

i can't see it clearly...
i really want to know that!!
thanks!

did you know this building doesn't even show up on google maps/-earth? they show the same thing i remember -- a parking lot between osgoode hall and the hilton. didn't know they were THAT out of date with their data.
thanks for these wonderful glimpses of my hometown, which has changed so frighteningly much since i left.
btw: what caused the zipper-like light streak that comes in from right and ends abruptly -- no, get's swept away in the middle of queen street! yikes! cyclist???
