About 1970, when rock bands were ocassionally playing gigs infront of this City Hall I thought it would be interesting and possibly effective at spreading the music about the city if the bands were to play on top of the dome roof. This would likely have the music reflecting off the concave building and projected like a large speaker to West and East.
Never happened, and likely never will.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at December 30, 2006 09:54 AMman, you love taking photos from the roof of the Sheraton... did you stay there or just walk in a take the elevator up?
Posted by marc at December 30, 2006 12:52 PMLooks like there was some blur added in post?
Posted by Dooser at December 30, 2006 02:32 PMWow, that's a hell of a zoom! I'm loving your large portrait-orientation shots... so much more detail and impact than a smaller size.
Posted by Ash at December 30, 2006 05:18 PMWhat a great sense of perspective. The blurring on the left is fantastic.

Posted by navin at December 30, 2006 10:30 PMI like to imagine that the little man has a smug little smile on his face as he walks away after having, in fact, beaten City Hall.
Posted by Matt at December 31, 2006 01:40 AMAll of these shots look like a miniature model of this particular scene. that lense is crazy.
Posted by Simon Cain at December 31, 2006 01:41 PMI love how you manage such a small field of view in some of your cityscapes.
I'm new to photography - would you mind explaining how you are able to get such a small field of view?
Amazing shot!
Looks like these miniature shots you did a while ago.
This is an absolutely amazing shot... I LOVE it. What you have in the frame, of so many different proportions, is just awesome. Great work! :)
