Wow ! Thanks Sam ! I can finally see what the bottom of those seats are like without having to look like a friggin' idiot ! Just kidding... Seriously, that's a nice complement to bug's POV.

Thought I was having a deja-vu moment there. Then I realized it was a different photo! I think I prefer this one, the little metal circle on the ground makes things quite interesting from the bug pov.

Sometimes the angle of attack makes the photo - as it does here. My first inclination was that the point of focus was too far back, but actually this does serve to draw the eye into the shot more effectively.

I like this one a lot more than the first one, I like the symmetry and the rear window.

Superbe picture with great DOF.

This just does not work after the previous shot/s. It is just SOOOoooooo static! one thinks of possibilities and latent energy :-)

Posted by lydia at December 19, 2006 06:37 AM

Great perspective. The floor of that streetcar is a lot cleaner than I would expect.

Posted by Laurie at December 19, 2006 07:05 AM

Must be a late night or early morning session to have as empty looking a car as this.

The circular pattern on the floor makes it for me with this angle. For a not too interesting subject in general its a good view. Working hard as ever.

It's black & withe photo but not impossible to guess the colors. It's reminds me a modern life which people need it but sometimes don't like!
like our life that it's men are going to be the same!

Love the low angle! Nice tones as well.

Great photo! I think it really captures an aspect of city life. I would be curious to see the image with the trash on the ground cleaned up or photoshopped out. Also, I think the image would be better if the foreground was more in focus but I understand that may not be possible.

How did you find such an empty car?!?

Posted by Annie at December 19, 2006 01:47 PM

Boy, I wish I could be as good as you... and have the money for the kind of digital cameras you have. Amazing.

Interesting shot Sam!

I take this same streetcar to work every day.
I much prefer this view to the back of everyone's head that I normally get.

Keep up the good work!

great shot,

I love this!! Reminds me of some work I did years ago photographing up through the middle of an electricity pylon. Pyramidical yet rectangular and with great flow. You have a marvellous eye for composition. Well done.

Love the angle, and the placement of the circle on the floor... As the saying goes; Good photographers have dirty knees...

You really know how to make the TTC look nice -- even when it's the bottom of the seats! :)

Posted by sparklite at December 20, 2006 09:53 PM

Great shot. Were you lying down when you took this shot?

Posted by navin at December 21, 2006 05:27 AM

Okay, I'm crazy for this one. I just LOVE the perspective, and the unconventional view of an everyday experience... awesome work!

Great angle and b/w-conversion.
