Beautiful shot as always...You travelled a lot in Italy!!
Is this the "Ospedale degli Innocenti" by Filippo Brunelleschi? (Brunelleschi is the same who projected the Florence cathedral dome)
Beautiful colours. Piazza della Santissima Annunziata, one of my favourites. This is the Ospedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), which used to be the orphanage that also took in abandoned babies (hence the babies represented in the Brunelleschi round terra cotta sculptures). Fittingly, it now houses a daycare centre and other organized activities for children.

Posted by djam at November 24, 2006 04:39 AMIt is god's house. If I couldn't see the man and a car, that house is not made for human. lol
Posted by Jun at November 24, 2006 05:28 AMI really like the treatment of the sky here.
Posted by Peter F at November 24, 2006 06:17 AMThat car looks impossibly small : )
Your signature sky is apparent once more!
Posted by Hitesh Sawlani at November 24, 2006 08:16 AMbeautiful shot - regretfully I spent most of my time in Florence thrift store shopping rather than sight-seeing :/
Posted by Jennifer at November 24, 2006 08:54 AMInteresting. It looks like a place that would normally be crowded with people.
Posted by Laurie at November 24, 2006 09:25 AMHow interesting to note that Italians can build an entirely boring facade. How come the sky is black?
Posted by Hugh Petrie at November 24, 2006 09:29 AMStunning shot! Love the composition and the colouring.
Posted by Craig at November 24, 2006 09:56 AMGreat job with this one.

Posted by Chris at November 25, 2006 02:37 AMThis was my favorite piazza when I studied in Florence. I lived down the street on Gino Caponi and I went to church right next door to the building in this photo just about every day. Thank you for sharing your photos and for bringing back so many wonderful memories for me!
