wonderful!

The 21st century version of your Siena picture - fabulous! Any chance of a daytime version?

Posted by Howard at November 17, 2006 03:08 AM

Composition forms a great pattern and the eyes are led nicely to the lights flaring through the atmosphere at the tops of the buildings. I find the building at the top left is interesting also due to its narrow top section; looks a bit scary. Large city buildings can be a breathtaking site at night.

Nice perspective - great shot!!!

Posted by kalai at November 17, 2006 03:22 AM

Great ... very nice shot !!

great perspective

Posted by Joerg at November 17, 2006 03:49 AM

I'm quite a fan of architectural shots looking straight up - always makes for a different composition. I really like the spiral feel to this one.

Posted by Sam O'Hare at November 17, 2006 04:07 AM

Good night shot, perfect geometry. Aggressive to the eye but that's precisely what I like when I look at your skyscrapers.

Posted by Carlos Lorenzo at November 17, 2006 04:27 AM

Wow...i love it.

Posted by shohreh at November 17, 2006 05:17 AM

Hey Sam, I'm wondering if you can post a wallpaper size picture of this on your flickr page? would be greatly appreciated.

Posted by Laurent at November 17, 2006 05:40 AM

Nice perspective it could make a person dizzy.

Posted by Laurie at November 17, 2006 05:51 AM

Wow. I see a bit of that fog up in the sky. Did you shoot any of that really thick fog last night?

One more question. What is the name of the plugin you use for fixing lens distortion? Or do you use the one that is in PS CS2?

Posted by ryan at November 17, 2006 07:12 AM

This is a really cool picture. The shapes of the buildings makes a neat perspective

Posted by Jordan at November 17, 2006 07:18 AM

surreal.

another amazing capture, sam.

Excellent, just excellent. Wallpaper size please.

Posted by Andrew at November 17, 2006 08:58 AM

This is another one of your wall hangers for sure! It reminds me of the days I used to play Unreal Tournament. I can almost see a little red or blue man jumping from one building to the other!

I do have a question that I hope you can answer. To get such a great composition, do you have a 90° angle view finder?

Posted by Nate at November 17, 2006 09:04 AM

Oh Man! I've had dreams of falling backwards looking up like that. Gives me the 'willies'.

Posted by Johnlee at November 17, 2006 09:07 AM

This great photo must be taken from a street person's perspective.

Posted by john at November 17, 2006 09:20 AM

Wow. Really effective. I like the strange mist at the top and the oddly geometric composition.

Posted by boje at November 17, 2006 09:21 AM

Love it. Any chance of a wallpaper?

Posted by Dan Dickinson at November 17, 2006 09:28 AM

I'm not sure if any words would accurately describe what I feel when I look at your photographs. Who are you? your photos are amazing!

Posted by yvonne at November 17, 2006 09:45 AM

this look slike tetris from the floors POV. Man, I love that game and the song, the one that goes, doo, doo, do, do, doo, do, do, do, do, do, da, doo, do, do, do, do, da doo doo. doo, doo, do, do, doo, do, do, do, do, do, da, doo, do, do, do, do, da doo. great, now I'll have that song in my head all day. Thanks for nothing Sam!

Posted by Ries at November 17, 2006 10:57 AM

was this shot with a tripod or did you put the camera down somewhere for 6 seconds?

Posted by Andrew at November 17, 2006 11:41 AM

Reminds me of a few shots from Blade Runner.

Posted by Aabid at November 17, 2006 11:47 AM

I'm currently using the picture from Florence with a very similar perspective as my desktop here at work...I am complimented on it almost daily! Your work is simply spectacular...any chance of getting this picture in a larger version, too? Thank you! :-)

Posted by Brad at November 17, 2006 12:14 PM

WOW!!! At first I thought it was a data/server library? Then I thought it was maybe the stock market at night? Then I read the caption. What a shot! Wonderful!!! Where were you standing/floating?

Posted by joy at November 17, 2006 12:19 PM

Could you please please please provide the wallpaper size of this shot? thanks in advance.

Nice Sam :)

Posted by AMJ at November 17, 2006 08:14 PM

Great, but Siena is definitly better, maybe because classical architecture lasts forever, while skyscrapers become older in a few years.Anyway, you are so talented with architecture and Toronto looks so full of inspirations...just wondering: have you ever tried this kind of perspective in a church while in Italy (my country) or a dome(maybe hi-tech one in Toronto)? I'm really interested!

Posted by Federico at November 17, 2006 08:14 PM

Hey, I was watching G4 Tech T.V. and unexpectedly, you came on. It was really cool (the Time Lapse segment).

Anyway, really cool pic.

Posted by Wesley Yendrys at November 17, 2006 09:26 PM

Love it! great shot. I love how your wide angle shots have such straight lines - have you written a tutorial on how you achieve that?
