Hi Sam .... love this. It reminds me of ancient Rome, laurel on marble ... would you have a slightly higher resolution image on Flickr? Thanks.

Funny that you caught your own shadow on this one !

Posted by Régis at November 14, 2006 04:54 AM

Refreshing new photo, loving that new macro lens eh?

It is so cliche!

Posted by Farhad Moratz at November 14, 2006 06:00 AM

I like the simplicity of this composition.

Posted by Laurie at November 14, 2006 06:05 AM

Almost a self portrait with the shadow :) Love the colour and detail.

Posted by Craig at November 14, 2006 06:16 AM

Loved the colors. Is that your shadow on bottom left corner? it's a bit distracting.

Posted by James at November 14, 2006 06:40 AM

Wow, great. You don't usually do such close-ups! I really like the play between dark and light in this one... on the dark surfaces, the water drops are highlighted; on the lower and brighter background, they are lowlighted... and, is that the shadow of your head as you take the picture?

Great colour and composition...

If only the shadow on the bottom wasn't there...

Beautiful, all of your photos simutaneously inspire and discourage me to take more photos.
Great work I love the site, you should offer more of these in wallpaper sizes.

Stunning. You're very gifted in the breadth of the subject matter you can capture with such insight and beauty. Do you have wallpaper versions of this? I'd love to see more wallpaper versions of your work where they can be enjoyed throughout the day. Thanks.

Now there's your graphic arts stepping out. Nice catch for sure. Striking! Looks like you've made your shadow a part of it.

Why is this making me think of the Goodyear logo? Schweet.

Posted by photendo at November 14, 2006 09:13 AM

If anyone wants to know what is perfect contrast, this is the thing to see, i neway love macro shots, as evident from my blog

Posted by subiet at November 14, 2006 09:25 AM

Don't like this one, because of you shadow or silhouette in the photo.

Posted by Aron_Germany at November 14, 2006 09:39 AM

This is a good picture. It's unfortunate that your shadow interferes with what would have been an almost perfect light/dark split. It would then have been a great picture.

Posted by Graham at November 14, 2006 09:53 AM

wow!

wicked pic...i'm not sure if i like the shadow of your head but i guess it could not have been avoided...

Posted by kiana at November 14, 2006 02:27 PM

your shadow adds a great feel to the image.

Great pic as usual Sam ! Any chance of us getting a Wallpaper sized image on flicker ?!!! ;)

Posted by Rab at November 14, 2006 03:19 PM

I like the shadow: it balances the composition.
