An interesting image. It's neat how the diagonals of the roof lines and shadows cast by the lights for the "Harbord ..." sign are echoed in the diagonal line of clouds. The warm color of the house against the blue sky is also great.

Posted by Fakhry at November 11, 2006 04:38 AMAwesome shot like always. Love it.
Posted by Xiayu at November 11, 2006 04:41 AMThe angle and the framing of this shot are well done. The light is great and that is a lovely transparent sky forming a very pleasant soft background to the stark buildings giving the scene depth.

you can't find a pure Horizental and Vertical Line
(180 & 90) in the picture (Interesting)
Is that a piece of Halibut floating in the sky?
Posted by Boreo at November 11, 2006 04:11 PMThere was me thinking Fish & Chip shops were uniquely British. Shows what I know.
Posted by Chris Pittock at November 11, 2006 04:27 PMLove it!
Posted by Vickie at November 11, 2006 04:50 PMCool shot. Looks like there's some weird aliasing in the diagonals going on, though, in the image. How are you resizing it for the web? Doesn't look like a bad "nearest neighbour" setting, but it does look a little odd...
Posted by ry(an) at November 11, 2006 06:45 PMHey great shot. I really like the way the angles are echoed in the clouds. And I know that place very well, because when I was a baby, my parents and I lived on the third floor of that yellow building! :)
Posted by Kimberly Way at November 12, 2006 10:31 AMi like how you have left out the shop below the 'fish and chip' sign - makes me want to know/see more
Posted by ks at November 12, 2006 04:55 PMHeh, just down the way from my house. Great drama in this image.
