Such an ethereal picture. It's haunting but in a beautiful way. Simply amazing - thanks for a great birthday present :)
Posted by Khadeeja at October 30, 2006 04:52 AMthat's mississauga not toronto :P
awesome shot btw. was that taken from dundas over the railroad tracks? that's a great view from there of the skyline of mississauga.
Clouds like these NEVER get boring, do they? :D
Well done!
Nice one, Sam. You are an early riser - sure provides some different views.
I've had a new Nikon D80 for two weeks and finding it quite a step up from film, for sure. I have found myself trapped by business indifference to details, however. Their software won't work on anything less than XP, according to the manual. This meant my PC crashed when it was installed and so far I have no way of transfering images to a PC. So this is a note of warning to any who may be inclined t buy, but aren't updated from earlier OS, like me with Windows ME - which worked fine with my image work to now.
I sure like the camera, however. No regrets, yet.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at October 30, 2006 06:56 AMVery graphic... Great city profile. Yeah, those clouds are interesting!
Posted by javga at October 30, 2006 07:02 AMIt was a strange weather day all around. Had hail in Oakville. The sky is really on fire in this shot!
Posted by Sean Galbraith at October 30, 2006 07:17 AMGorgeous sky. I love that it's obviously real, rather than a result of heavy post-procesing.
Posted by Ash at October 30, 2006 08:06 AMWow! I loved the contrast between the orange/red clouds and the skyline.
Posted by Katia-from Brazil at October 30, 2006 08:41 AMWow.... Clouds are fantastic! Cheers!
Posted by kuba at October 30, 2006 09:00 AMBetter than the cloud formations is the red color cast that they have. It gives a mysterious ambiance to the photo.
Posted by nferreira at October 30, 2006 09:36 AMBonjour,
Stunning sky..Great shot!..
Ooh, very pretty. :)
Posted by mel at October 30, 2006 12:36 PMnice warm colors, but we all know how effing cold it was that day.
Posted by Louis at October 30, 2006 01:56 PMwhere is that? North York? or Mississauga? or neither? I'm stumped.
Posted by Dave at October 30, 2006 02:01 PMWe had the same thing here over the weekend. The wind was wild and so was the sky.
You captured it beautifully.
Posted by Laurie at October 30, 2006 02:31 PM...and one of the most beautiful sunset I have seen in a while...
Posted by Andrea de Keijzer at October 30, 2006 04:16 PMcome on sam...another cloud shot? you're better than that!
Posted by nate at October 30, 2006 04:29 PMwonderful photo, how about a wallpaper? :)
Posted by Ayan at October 30, 2006 05:06 PMSam, thank you for capturing that sunset! I stood and watched it last night, going from glowing yellow and purple to this red splendor. And though your photograph is amazing, it barely communicates how glorious the real thing was!! God is an amazing painter!!
Thanks for sharing.
Posted by Kathy at October 30, 2006 05:09 PMWonderful colours. We had something a kin to this here in Southern England this morning. Unfortunatly I had to go to work rather than photographing it. Such is life.
Posted by Chris Pittock at October 30, 2006 05:35 PMbeautiful.

Posted by jen at October 30, 2006 08:37 PMI was out sword shopping in chinatown and saw this sunset and threw a fit for not bringing my camera. I hate you.

Wow.... amazing clouds!
Posted by Ries at October 31, 2006 03:13 AMcool colors and clouds but not your best quality wise. although im surprised you were able to handhold this at only 1/160s!
Posted by jesse warren at October 31, 2006 03:59 AMcool shot. The colour difference (red to bloack clouds and orange sky) seems so artificial though.......
