Comments: broken wall

so impressive! good choice of color toning.
but why would they demolish a church?

the sky in the background looks un-naturally white.
photoshop?

Those who can, do. Those who can't, spend hours analyzing how you do it. It isn't just the white sky, when I look from four feet away from the screen it is absolutely 3 dimensional. Beautiful!

Funny how we are drawn to watch stuff being knocked down.

This draws out the question in my mind as to how Moslems would go about knocking down a Mosque or have they ever done that in their history - that is, other than what has collapsed by earthquake or misfortune of war. I have the feeling they may take a fussy way to do such a thing rather than this straightforward knock it down manner of the west.

Which is to say. Does ritual enter into it?

Isn't it a sin to destroy a church? I thought they had to become ruins after hundreds of years

I feel like I'm in a time warp looking at this. I think this is b&w? Very nice.

um, wow. this is stunning. i really just cannot take my eyes off of the broken edge. it almost looks as if you took a picture, randomly tore it & put it on a white background. it's really neat.

is it photoshopped?

Ha, I wrote a research paper on this very issue. Those Quebecois are caught in a catch-22.

Interesting shot. The broken edge looks goood against the white background.

This shot really grabs and holds my attention. It is not one to fleetingly pass over. As far as the 'Photoshop' work on the sky is concerned, I am not with purists who won't come at taking advantage of the powerful tools at our disposal to make works of art out of photos. I believe in freedom when it comes to art and photography and won't be constrained by what society would try to dictate is the correct way. I think the majority of viewers of this image will appreciate the great effect of the white sky. I think it is good to exercise some license with image editing if the effect gives the desired result. The detail and texture of the brickwork and the jagged edge are great.
