Shouldn't it be "Siton" (sit-on) instead? :p
Nice pic, as usual. I must say this: when your photos aren't just nice is because they are amazing.
I couldn't stop noticed the richness of the architecture and the details in the window below the shop name. Beautiful!
Posted by nferreira at October 28, 2006 06:48 AMThis is a great shot, but the list of things they sell is a little gross for this hour of the morning. Nice spotting as always.
Posted by Laurie at October 28, 2006 07:46 AMHaha, I love the "No Pets" sign.
Posted by Chris at October 28, 2006 10:13 AMThe building is tired but the facia on it has some quite marvelous detailing. Too bad progress means it's buried by the shop signs etc. The half round stained glass windows at top look very interesting.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at October 28, 2006 10:27 AMgreat find - love the contrasting colors.
Posted by kurt at October 28, 2006 11:27 AMWow what a find, what a strange looking place. chickens feet! who ever buys them?
I like the window above the shop.
Not a place for a vegetarian. ;)
Love the bicycle's effect.
Posted by Kaylee at October 28, 2006 12:05 PMI like that you didn't crop to just the butcher's store front. The apartment above really adds to the shot.
Posted by bryan at October 28, 2006 01:36 PMThat's a bloody old-school butcher shop. i rather not see the blue area on the right though.
Posted by Boreo at October 28, 2006 02:44 PMBloody red !
Posted by Jonas Detarsis at October 28, 2006 02:45 PMI love the "NO PETS" sign after mentioning "We sell ... and everything from beef pork chicken and turkey."
I thought a chorizo was everything from pork. :^)
Posted by Kevin at October 28, 2006 03:15 PMThat is one cool looking butcher's shop! But no lamb for sale?? :(
Posted by Jason at October 28, 2006 04:57 PMcool, I got the first comment.
Nice photo.
Posted by BlogNooby at October 28, 2006 10:56 PMMany people buy chicken feet ... the Chinese particularly. Chicken feet is a dim sum delicacy.
I love this stretch of Queen St ... there is a lot of beautiful if neglected architecture. Look up at Sherbourne and Queen! There's a lovely lamb relief painted in white and green.
Posted by Gloria at October 29, 2006 12:41 AMis it love of red color that made him a butcher? or is it being a butcher that makes him love the red color?
i like the shot though. is it love of colors that make me like this? or the stories within this?... ;-) :-)
Beautiful!
Posted by Nazli at October 29, 2006 07:33 AMVery great capture :-) Like the tones.
Posted by Ries at October 29, 2006 06:35 PMThat whole block on the north side is very photogenic. And that's a great price for eggs!
Posted by Jonah at October 30, 2006 10:05 AMI would say paint is still wet, or is it blood all that splatter on the sidewalk and poodles?. I like the architecture.
Posted by Carlos Lorenzo at November 3, 2006 10:30 PMthe 'No Pets' sign...takes the cake! for many reasons...the imagination knows no limits...
