Posted by shula at October 25, 2006 10:38 AMWhat a wonderful shot Sam!! The lighting throughout is perfect. Its been a while since I've been there and I have been gazing at this scene for a while, enjoying every minute. Thanks.
Posted by Henry at October 25, 2006 10:53 AMin my opinion, this is one of your top 10 shots. great perspective, colours and details.
Posted by photoblog-community at October 25, 2006 11:11 AMThis is an amazing photo. So much going on but the building keeps it all together. very very nice.
Posted by Andrew at October 25, 2006 11:18 AMCertainly a lot of effort has been put into decorating the buildings. I'm wondering what time of day this was, but don't expect you to remember.
Great shadow detail considering the contrast range.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at October 25, 2006 11:23 AMReally cool, was there a lot of post processing needed? Looks nartual and unnatural at the same time, but I really like it, really effective.
I notice the f is only 5.6 but the stuff in the distance is still really clear, how was that achieved? I'm still trying to work out that sort of thing.
Posted by pete at October 25, 2006 11:28 AMwow, love the perspective. also loving my own new 10-22 lens!
Posted by jesse warren at October 25, 2006 11:40 AMThese are the kind of scenes you buy a wide angle lense for!
Posted by braesikalla at October 25, 2006 11:45 AMThats like uber wide, just whoa.
Posted by Pete Carr at October 25, 2006 11:51 AMBeautiful shot! It has motion in it and it must be the prespective in the photo. What a inspiring location anyway.
Posted by SlicesofLife at October 25, 2006 11:55 AMwow man....that's really nice shot.
Posted by heju at October 25, 2006 12:45 PMI'd be curious to know how this photo was processed. Some perspective correction? Some dodging and burning to get the lighting of the ground matched up with that of the sunlight striking the upper levels? I assume that there was direct sunlight on the fascade on the right, but on the left, it was reflected light?
Posted by Ted at October 25, 2006 01:24 PMnice shot, have you combined different exposures in this shot ?
Posted by schmonsequences at October 25, 2006 01:43 PMHi Sam,
I'm a long time viewer first time poster,
I just wanted to say that I think this is one of your best shots. I often observe the pictures for under a minute, but this one really caught my eye and I can't stop looking at it. Great job.
It reminds me of one from a few years ago taken in an alley in paris with the top half of the building shining a vibrant gold, which I also really enjoyed.
I really like your site and it gives me somehting to look forward to every day.
Thanks and keep it up, Steve
Posted by Steve at October 25, 2006 01:51 PMsimply beautiful!! love the angles and the dark light contrasts..once again, amazing!

Good job!
I love this image. I like the converging architectural lines at the top and the everyday people walking at the bottom. Fantastic shot!
Posted by Gabriel McIntosh at October 25, 2006 02:41 PMI love the perspective. Best of all, I love how you captured those people's moments, each person tells a chapter and you've managed to capture the story.
Posted by Jenny at October 25, 2006 03:33 PMMy days...that 10-22 is just ridiculous...Love this Shot!
Posted by Philippe at October 25, 2006 03:39 PM
Wow. I can't believe how hot that is. It's totally turning me on!
Very interesting perspective. On the ground, the street seems quite wide while the distance between the edges of the roofs seems much much narrower, as if someone could jump from one roof to another.
Posted by vg at October 25, 2006 05:02 PMgreat shoot! :)
love it... awesome perspective
wonderful, for me it is one of your best photos. it is very simple but so symetric, deep and sharp.
great job.
Beautiful, sharp, clean, crisp photogrpahy. Great image.

Posted by tai at October 25, 2006 11:10 PMi'm in architecture school and i love your architectural shots-- this one especially b/c we're doing one point perspective in drawing and it's ungodly boring-- but you take it to a new level of interest. thanks for the inspiration!
