Interesting perspective, wonderful symmetry. Cheers!

Beautiful and surreal! Color and black and white. Linear and curvilinear.

I love the composition!

at first I thought that you were using some strange kind of lens for this one.. great idea for sculpture, in a way it adapts itself to any place you put it into, a chameleon-like piece of art.. interesting

Wow, that really messes with your head!

Posted by Daragh Mc Grath at October 19, 2006 04:12 AM

IM pretty sure you have done this before

Posted by Hitesh Sawlani at October 19, 2006 04:29 AM

I've seen this sculpture before and I think it's absolutely fascinating.

I had read a lot about this...nice shot. Are you in the frame? Also, I wonder if a little more sharpening in the region where the people are standing not help?

Posted by Anil at October 19, 2006 05:18 AM

weird, but superb!

Posted by erodas at October 19, 2006 07:16 AM

Wow that's a 10 year old boy dream magnifying glass. Impagine how many ants an hour could be fried with that thing!

Posted by ROB at October 19, 2006 08:03 AM

Gorgeous! I'm guessing selective desaturation on the sky?

Posted by Nate at October 19, 2006 08:13 AM

this photo would be much better without the fake looking sky. it's nice to do touchups (color correction/sharpening) but i think that's a bit much.

Posted by closer at October 19, 2006 10:00 AM

Odd! With that dark sky bit merging the edge of the top of the mirror it first looked like a strange building that was on fire - as it loaded. Once loaded it made sense, of course, but I'm not big on this style of so-called sculpture.

Interesting however. And you are part journalist and part artist, so ....

All I can say is, wow. At first glance I thought it was taken with a fish-eye. You really have to think about how it was taken.

Very nice shot.

so cool!

Posted by Vickie at October 19, 2006 10:24 AM

That is a pretty cool shot!

Posted by lysa at October 19, 2006 10:32 AM

wow!!

Posted by shula at October 19, 2006 10:51 AM

thats yet another lovely shot.
i wanted to go and see that sculpture whilst it was in britain. it's fascinating.

a question, what filters do you use to get such dark, moody skies?

Posted by sam kinch at October 19, 2006 11:04 AM

I love your pictures long time enjoyer but I guess it's just me but I find this mirror thing dumb but maybe you have to be there huh?

Posted by dan at October 19, 2006 12:37 PM

But where are you? You should have been refleced in the mirror!

Posted by Ali at October 19, 2006 01:25 PM

wow, that is amazing

Posted by shen at October 19, 2006 01:29 PM

interesting. the sky threw me off a bit at first, but it grew on me. Nice shot!

Posted by jkelske at October 19, 2006 02:36 PM

I couldn't tell whether it was a 10 meter mirror or a close up on a small one. that's what i like most about the picture. If it weren't for the tiny people. As has been said here before surreal, and illusive. Great capture Sam.

Posted by Carlos Lorenzo at October 19, 2006 02:59 PM

That is a cool sight! Great capture, I really like how you composed this image. I don't see you in the reflection, were you able to keep yourself out of the shot?

Posted by micki at October 19, 2006 04:00 PM

Bonsoir,
Always wonderful..Admiration..In french, we say : "un MaƮtre" (a master in Art)

Posted by jelb at October 19, 2006 04:36 PM

Very cool. I like mirror shots a lot. this is great.

Posted by Andrew at October 19, 2006 07:28 PM

This is such a cool photo!! It really throws your sense of depth off for a bit :)

Posted by Lea at October 19, 2006 08:23 PM

i like how everything in the background is monochromatic, yet the reflection has loads of colour in it. this is the weirdest picture i've ever seen, and i love it!

Posted by andrea at October 19, 2006 09:18 PM

i've seen a similar shot before
where are you?

Posted by christine at October 20, 2006 12:00 AM

Great shot, well spotted and composed.

Posted by Jon at October 20, 2006 03:19 AM

I like the way you framed this. This mus be a really cool site to see in person. I haven't had the chance to see it, except in this picture which is lovely.

Posted by Laurie at October 20, 2006 06:18 AM

So often when I see your photographs, they make me take an unexpected in-breath, and say Wow!* This is no exception.
