That is so cool! I'd like to say more but I just don't know how. You are one talented dude.

Got to get me one of those lenses :-) Images shot with it look so cool, almost like a minature.

i love your shots like this, they just seem like its macro on a little model world, like a train set or something. excellent.

At first I though these were toys

Posted by navin harish at September 29, 2006 03:59 AM

i am loving what u did with this fake model thingy..

Posted by kris at September 29, 2006 05:20 AM

So funny to see those people as if they were taken from a miniature model... truly realistic !

Amazing lens!! Love the shot.

Posted by Craig Wilson at September 29, 2006 07:00 AM

Sam, great shot but I'd like to see it without the depth of field, unless that was done on the camera. Anywho, I love it!

Posted by Zac at September 29, 2006 07:02 AM

Man! What a great effect ... even after zooming in, I'd swear it was a miniture studio setup ...

Posted by Jasper at September 29, 2006 07:13 AM

Half the picture's out of focus. I don't see the point.

Posted by Jack at September 29, 2006 07:15 AM

nice small focus part.

Posted by Chantal at September 29, 2006 07:58 AM

I trust you have now finished with the out of focus pictures from the top of the Sheraton Centre and that you will get back to something more interesting and aesthetically pleasing. By the way, it's Nathan Phillips Square not Nathan Philips Centre.

I have really enjoyed the last few shots, where you have managed to make reality look like toys. Very cool.

Posted by Kent Blumberg at September 29, 2006 09:31 AM

That is so freaking cool!

Posted by Mike at September 29, 2006 09:46 AM

AMAZING! I think this is the best tilt/shift shot yet!

Posted by podious at September 29, 2006 09:58 AM

wow, too cool! i'm hoping to find a way to create effects like this with my S7000

Posted by Chase at September 29, 2006 01:55 PM

Again, very well executed.

These shots are always so interesting and unique. They always look like miniatures to me.

The 90mm TS-E also makes a great portrait, macro and street lens. This shot is a lot of fun to look at... I hope you get yourself a TS-E!

Posted by geckonia at September 29, 2006 06:45 PM

This reminds me of games like Sim City or Rollercoaster Tycoon... with the (isometric?) view.

Posted by umar at September 29, 2006 06:58 PM

cant the depth of field be increased so that the effect would be better

Posted by arun at September 29, 2006 07:03 PM

The large version on Flickr is *really* amazing. Seeing it larger is important.

Posted by Matt at September 29, 2006 09:13 PM

I was gonna say the same thing like everybody about how miniatury like this photo looks, but I decided to check the original version of it see if there is any differnece and amazingly those people still look like models!!!!! How great is that???!!!
Amazingly fabulous picture. Loved it so much. Even better than those buildings before.
Well done.

Posted by Payam at September 30, 2006 08:25 AM

I forgot to say, more than anything else in this shot, I loved that black guy and the way he is staring at that stage. It must be something interesting going on that stage. Wish I was there.

Posted by Payam at September 30, 2006 08:27 AM

I don't know who Glen was there... but that was a little rude.
Pretty cool shot. I love the control you seem to get with these TS-E lenses. Sure, it doesn't suit some people's interests... but for product shots taken at an angle it can be a god-send.

Did you take any other shots that aren't landscape, like portraits or product shots? I, personally would enjoy seeing more.

Posted by Richard Houtby at September 30, 2006 10:39 AM

it actually looks real miniature (:
the instant i saw it i know it you and your tilt-shift lens (:

great shot

Awesome picture.

That is one great shot.....in fact, the whole series using that tilt/shift lense are quite unlike anything I've seen before, photographically speaking. It makes the street scene look like an advert for 'Legoland' or a model railway scene.

You've taken some great shots fella, but you've excelled yourself with this series. Great stuff !
