The projector stopped working during the movie.. Michael Moore showed up trying to fix it, and then killed time on stage for about an hour along with borat and the director. The movie will be shown again tomorrow night :P

Posted by vg at September 8, 2006 03:12 AMReally nice shots!! Borat is such a cool dude. I even got a high-five from the man himself.
The movie which was supposed to premiere tonight has to be postponed to tomorrow due to projector malfunction. It is tomorrow midnight at the Elgin Theatre (Yonge/Queen). Borat will be at the show as are many other celebrities.
Posted by Damien at September 8, 2006 03:13 AMsounds intriguing.. maybe this film will be shown during the IFF here in Warsaw.. still a month away ;)

Nice images, as always, Sam.

Posted by Martin at September 9, 2006 01:01 PMI have great respect for Sacha Baron Cohen. He's intelligent and very funny. Rude, yes, but theres much more to it than that.
These are great shots - getting the other photographers in the shot makes for great results.
Posted by Phil at September 10, 2006 06:39 PMi was at that premier! i was thinking of you actually, wondering if you were there. didnt see you though. i didnt have a ticket either, until sasha baron cohen's manager gave me one for free!!!! it was really unfortunate that the projector broke down 30 minutes into the film though. they resheduled the film for friday night and the movie was absolutely hysterical
Posted by sana qadar at September 10, 2006 11:12 PMWhile michael moore is a problem for some, making him an object in that sense and justfy using the signifier, 'which', more properly he is a human and entitled to the signifier 'whom'. As in,
"I spotted michael moore too, who I assume ..."
pedantically yours, etc etc
Posted by harley at September 11, 2006 12:33 PMHi,
do you know what Borat says each time he starts?
Somethink like "jak se mas" or "dekuji" ... it is my born language :-D
... do you know what does it means?
Mauda from Czech republic :-)
Posted by Mauda at September 13, 2006 01:42 AMI'm 1/2 czech (never learnt the language though)
I'm pretty sure dyekuji (sp?) means "Hello" and "jak se mas" means "I am called... / My name is..."
IMHO it's not a czech language :-D though it's quite similar
Posted by otomi at September 16, 2006 08:09 PMHello,
I can say ... IT IS CZECH LANGUAGE :-)
"Dekuji." ... means ... Thank you.
&
"Jak se mas?" ... means ... How are you? (How do you do?)
Mauda
Posted by Mauda at September 27, 2006 01:39 AMmy boyfriend's mother is part polish and she claims that "chenqui" and "jagshemash" are polish words. i think she said "chenqui" means "thank you". they do sound pretty similar. i remember what "jagshemash" was supposed to mean.
p.s. i'm sure i incorrectly spelled those words. oh how i butcher borat's made up language.
Posted by kag at November 2, 2006 01:55 AMActually, Borat (Sacha Cohen) is speaking Hebrew in the movie. That makes it even funnier.
