Ok, I love the blog, but what is this? A money-sucking gas station is the last place I would see a photo... then again, I'm a recording engineer...
Still a wonderful photo though.
Hi Sam,
What a pleasure to see my country through your so talented eyes !
Kind regards from France,
Y.
A unique shape for a gas station. Something like the space needle. It reminds me of gas station in Bombay, India that is inspired by the Sydne Opera House.

Posted by DAVE at September 1, 2006 07:58 AMAh, yes, flowers on the pump island. Not for the faint of heart grease monkey. Don't see in this in el norte.
Posted by John at September 1, 2006 08:34 AMLove the shapes and the soft tones...
Posted by Craig Wilson at September 1, 2006 08:43 AM567890 Well! I just find the number on this rather incongruous - a puzzle. And what exactly is it a station for? Is that a gas pump nozzle I see - it's dark so it's hard to make out.
Different places - different stuf & style. I'd be inclined to stop and find out what it is were I not to have found out beforehand.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at September 1, 2006 09:16 AMLovely images. Just curious -- do your post-processing techniques utilize Channel Mixer and Levels primarily? Would love to see more before and afters :)
Posted by Sarah at September 1, 2006 09:30 AMMust be very quiet around there. Looks so deserted...
Posted by Photoblog Community at September 1, 2006 09:42 AMWow-sers!!
Way, Way Cool.
Especially like the way the sky fades to black at the top.
I suppose in a hurricane it wouldn't keep you dry, but still... a very neat way to fill'er up.
This is an awesome shot! Love how the round part of the staion just jumps out at you.
Posted by Ashley at September 1, 2006 10:36 AMlooks like a mushroom; pretty cool.
Posted by Andrew at September 1, 2006 03:56 PMVery nice photographs. I make it a point to visit your photoblog at least every few days to see your photos. Most noticeably your photographs are very clean and sharp. I love how the images jump out in detail. Are you sharpening your photos? How do you achieve such a sharp image?
Posted by Cliff at September 1, 2006 04:53 PMfajna fotka ale troszkę przegiąłeś z podkręcaniem jej w fotoszopie
ale.. pomysł niezły pozdro
Cool! I dunno why but it reminds me a little of Star Trek. Damn, i hate it being the Trekkie/Geek here :-)

Posted by Steve at September 1, 2006 07:34 PMi like it-- it looks like a mushroom
Posted by lusciousliz at September 1, 2006 08:48 PMYou have raised our expectations way too much with all your super great photos. This one is just too cold and industrial with all the metal and concrete for my liking but it is a cool shape for a gas station regardless.
Posted by Kiana at September 1, 2006 09:07 PMWhoa Sam, this one kick ass! Love the composition!
I work at a petrol station, that's the funniest gas station I've seen!!! haha
Thanks for sharing!
Wild shot. Gas in a compact style. I'd like to know what everything is there, however. Some things I can't tell!
