woah..thats so cool, nice use of flash technology. Im guessing this was taken on Sunday the clouds were so thick!!
Posted by dqa at August 22, 2006 12:51 AMSam the link for Paul's site doesn't seem to be working. The page just comes up with the title 'error' & the following text in the page 'The network path was not found.'
Great photo by the way! I only wished you moved the camera to the left a bit more.
Posted by Abraham at August 22, 2006 12:55 AMwow, well the result is impressive and the cloud pattern is interesting indeed!
good stuff !
Wow, this is just too cool. Love the low flying clouds. Really well done.
I have a feeling he's going to sell quite a few of those wonderful little gadgets!
Posted by Daniel at August 22, 2006 01:20 AMYou can see why they're called skyscrapers, if the cloud cover was any lower you would see marks made by the building. Very cool.
Posted by Andrew at August 22, 2006 01:37 AMSimply fabulous shot! Even cooler time-lapse! Love the way the light moves over the city through the clouds! Way cool!
Posted by pixels.in.my.head at August 22, 2006 01:54 AMNooooo! Now I want one too. Cool stuff (that little video complication), but I wonder how much it reduces your cameras shutter life.
Posted by ROB at August 22, 2006 01:55 AMThanks for the hint. I just ordered a Plix.
Posted by Peter Eich at August 22, 2006 03:24 AMWonderful!
Posted by Ali at August 22, 2006 03:52 AMwow
the time lapse is amazing, the clouds look like they are oppressing the city scape and the touches of sun make it look more than real. Well done Sam.
Gloomy day, but that time lapse video has made my day, Bravo! :)
Posted by Hitesh Sawlan at August 22, 2006 04:50 AMThanks Sam, another great post. I'll have to wait a month or so before buying my pclix, as i've just bought my first mac, but i'm planning on getting some timelapse done as soon as i can get all the software on my macbook. Cheers again!
Posted by Adam at August 22, 2006 05:56 AMwow, why I always I get the feeling you are living in the future?
Posted by Art at August 22, 2006 07:06 AMInteresting clouds indeed. Well captured.
Posted by Maran at August 22, 2006 07:08 AMI love how static that building is.
Posted by jonathan at August 22, 2006 09:07 AMWow! Very cool effect!
Posted by jodi at August 22, 2006 09:13 AMgreat time lapse! has a mysterious feel to it! (does the pclix power on the camera or do u need to leave it on?)
Posted by hvm at August 22, 2006 09:15 AMThat is excellent Sam - a great use of time lapse and a good little gadget.
Posted by Paul Carter at August 22, 2006 09:19 AMwow, amazing video, really great!
Posted by lisi at August 22, 2006 09:42 AMWow. This is amazing! Does it come with the software to combine the pictures and make the Flash file? How many images did it take to make this presentation? Keep up the nice work. -Pete
Posted by pete at August 22, 2006 10:09 AMLove the tool, and nice shot.
Posted by Craig Wilson at August 22, 2006 10:40 AMThe gadget is great. The example is rather boring to my view, but the potential is wild.
Nice friend.
I expect it could be used to time delay bombs too.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at August 22, 2006 10:51 AMwow!!
Posted by shula at August 22, 2006 10:53 AMTo watch the clouds fly by is amazing, but what is also interesting is the effect of light and wind on the trees.......it makes them look like there is a spirit of unrest in treeland - they are murmuring and plotting against the developers. Fun capture, Sam - thanks!
Posted by Kathy at August 22, 2006 11:08 AMVery cool, I like how you can see the light change on the trees. Nice work!
Posted by Lysa at August 22, 2006 12:03 PMgreat job and thanks for the info, too...
Posted by otilius at August 22, 2006 12:10 PMLOOKS LIKE THE OCEAN! with building crustacians. or however you spell that. and scurrying crabby traffic...
Very cool new toy, how much are they?
Posted by Steve W at August 22, 2006 12:23 PMThat is just extraordinary. I can't stop watching it - the sunlight ripples across the cityscape like at the bottom of a shallow part of the sea.
Beautiful photography & great use of technology. Thanks.
i.f.
Nice! Perhaps a good candidate for HDR???
Posted by PhotoChron at August 22, 2006 04:01 PMNow, that, is REALLY nice!
Posted by Gustavs at August 22, 2006 04:28 PMI found watching the changes in the building, such as curtains opening and what appeared to be changes in the TV sets interesting.
It is neat to watch all the changes in light that clouds effect.
Posted by herman at August 22, 2006 06:52 PMSeems a little pricey for what it is.. I can buy the genuine Canon timed remote, with a digital readout and lighting for only slightly more...
Posted by Ron: Threeflavours.ca at August 22, 2006 10:17 PMImpressive, but you really need a sturdier ballhead because you camera was dropping gradually during the whole process.
Posted by Ron at August 22, 2006 11:39 PMWOW.. I thought the image was cool... but after seeing the timelapse video.. it fades in comparison.. nice location where you've shot this from too!
I noticed '0 comments' and jumped at the opportunity.. but alas there were already tonnes of comments here.. a bug?
Posted by Rahul at August 22, 2006 11:52 PMHow did you put all the photos together into a flash movie? I would be very happy if you answered my question.
Posted by Andrew at August 23, 2006 12:40 AMThis is so beyond words! Extremely, excellent!
Posted by Laurie at August 23, 2006 12:41 AMpaul is cool ... i mean, sam is turning into a sell out. ...wonderful new gadget called pclix.
Posted by sad for sam at August 23, 2006 12:45 AMsimply wonderful... both the picture and the flash... WOW
Posted by paul at August 23, 2006 01:25 AMAn amazing effect. what a cool piece of kit the pclix is, must have one!
Posted by Alistair - Digiphotology at August 23, 2006 07:50 PMLove the picture. It feels very urban.
As for the timelapse part. Very impressive.
Posted by Jon at August 24, 2006 02:17 AMWow!!
That is so beautiful and amazing to watch.
Thank you, Sam!
Posted by Vanessa at August 24, 2006 04:31 AMOh, definitely like this! ((stares at the time-lapse like a kid staring into an aquarium))
Posted by descolada9 at August 24, 2006 02:29 PMwow! OMG if you stare at one certain spot in the forest in the scene throughout the video after it is over the clouds move backwards try it out its really neat
Posted by j at September 13, 2006 12:35 AMWonderful! I just bought a Pclix from Paul thanks to your site. Nice to not have the camera tethered to a computer. Cheers, Sandra
