Comments: siena tower

hey buddy. i don't know is somebody told you this before but i have to say it: i like your picture and i absolutly like your style. i also like big pictures but on your photoblog the images are almost to big for my screen (1280 x 1024). i alway have to scroll down to get the whole picture. this is a kind of disturbing ... nevertheless: the quality of your images are still great! --- VIVA ITALIA ---

The feel to this image is really nostalgic and relaxed. I like the shape of the windows and the lapp shades and the balcony and the plants growing in it are adding to the appeal of this image. This image has the power to take youbasck in time.

What an interesting find. Only one window and the balcony with any signs of life. It would appear that in Italy the shutters are not just purely decorative. I really like the tones. Even though the tower is the main focus I am still drawn to look at the balcony.

love the textures on that building

Nice tones in the buildings.

I like the colours, but the image seems too flat, they dont feel like real buildings,

perhaps a side effect of your tools?

It's beautiful!
bravo!!

Ahh Siena.... probably my favorite city I have ever visited. Great Photo

I like this photo - but if I could perhaps make a suggestion ... i think it works better if it was cropped. Start at the top right, follow the roof diagonally down and to the left. At the end of the roof, just horizontally crop below the roof line. I reckon the white tower is such a powerful focal point and the rest of the photo is a little too interesting and distracting.

Such European colours and architecture! You've captured the essence of the place reall well.

This was a wonderful discovery, the lone window dressed up so nicely for a photo. The high tower and the rich blue sky completes the composition nicely.

Polarizer blue sky! Dense.

And a watch tower to watch for - which enemy?

Posted by Hugh Petrie at August 7, 2006 02:57 PM

great textbook layout. brightness seems a little low in the bottom 1/5th of the shot. I disagree with crop suggestion above....the meat of the shot is the foreground building, the tower is just a cherry on the sundae...i'd never give up the sundae for just the cherry.

Excellent colors. Composition is a bit busy (too much in the frame), but I still like it. Great work.

Posted by sach1tb at August 8, 2006 05:06 PM

This is a fine example of some tasteful Photoshopping.

Really beautiful. I visited Siena last year and the tower seems more impressive on this picture than it actually is (not saying that it isn't though...). I really like what you made with the sky, seems kind of surnatural...
