It's amazing that such a simple wall can make a great photograph. I love ddoi.

very well spotted!

So Canadian. Surprised its in Quebec though, did not think they bothered with english anymore.

This picture is ILLEGAL. Notice how the english letters are exactly the same size as the french letters. This crime must be reported to the Quebec language police immediately for a thorough investigation. Heads must roll. As a work of art this photo is worth $0.29. As a piece of detective work-- priceless.

Uh? Looks like a rather basic computer. Press and it does't work. (Bang your head on the wall?)

How perfect for a Flash intro finale!

Wow, you have seen more of montreal, then I have of my 14 years being born and liveing here. Nice shot...

Sam you are AMAZING.
Love this minimalist style. love the texture. love the grays. love even that you picked out this font to shoot!

Lovely!

Sorry! A little bit boring...

Posted by jesse at August 2, 2006 11:36 AM

Interesting shot and good detail.

I'm not happy with this one. Give the location and I bet many of your viewers could take the same shot. I've seen better from you and this isn't one of them. Sorry!

great photograph! i love the contrast between the whimsy of the words and the concrete they're molded into.

any chance of getting this in hi-res? it'd look great on my desktop!

keep up the terrific work...

Very stark composition. Looks like it could be an album cover almost.

Posted by Laurie at August 2, 2006 08:24 PM

I guess this says it all, eh?

I really like the way you composed this. The vast amount of empty space around the small lettering leaves me wanting to see more of this subject, and yet not wanting to have it revealed.

Posted by micki at August 2, 2006 09:04 PM

wow...i haven't checked your posts in a year or so, looks like you're really into photoshopping lately.

Posted by evan at August 2, 2006 09:41 PM

LOVE this! could be the cover of a card.

Posted by Serena at August 5, 2006 03:21 AM

My favourite of all the shots you've taken so far - any chance we can get a larger version for wallpaper?

Posted by Adam at August 7, 2006 10:29 AM

The contrast is rather enjoyable to see; witty sentiment in the subject matter; while the noticeably off center text brings the life to this shot, and really allows you to capture the whole image, as you scan from a normally centralized perspective, to this off center frame.

The minimalistic aspect of this tingles with enterprise! Just love concrete really, the whole Brutalism side is very intricate and reflects the sharp geometries of the text nicely.

Great photo. Would love to have it on my wall.
