"On ledge" -- I like that...
Posted by July 20, 2006 at July 20, 2006 03:51 AMLove it, cracking shot.
Posted by Jon at July 20, 2006 03:53 AMSam, what were you standing upon for the elevation in this shot -- stairs?
Posted by Kevin at July 20, 2006 04:11 AMgreat color tone. ANd the speed in moving people is nice works well.
Posted by Chantal at July 20, 2006 05:51 AMGrand Central is gorgeous. I believe it had undergone some major renovations just a few years back.
I love the motion blur, in a way I wish there were more people since it would really give an essence of how busy it really gets there. I like this since it is an unusual view. Most people shoot the main "hall" or whatever it's called...too early to think.
Posted by Laurie at July 20, 2006 06:38 AMI love the few people at the back with the motion blurr, my first interpritations was of a pack of wolves running past!
Posted by James at July 20, 2006 07:24 AMThis is exceptional. I love how all of your photos seem to have layers, they look so different from the top to the bottom. This is great.
Posted by faustina at July 20, 2006 08:12 AMI like the angle of this shot! It captures the everyday hustle and bustle.
Posted by Michael at July 20, 2006 08:32 AMNice shot, as always. Small error: it's Grand Central Terminal, Grand Central Station is the post office.

Posted by Steven at July 20, 2006 08:59 AMBang on yet again... good job
Posted by Gavin at July 20, 2006 09:01 AMNot impressed by this at all. Between skewed lines and loss of detail on the right side (noise cancelation?) and the blown out lights...???
The location is great and the angle is interesting, but i'm afraid you didn't pull it off this time.
Impressive! There's just nothing quite like Grand Central Station for grandeur.
Posted by Neil at July 20, 2006 10:14 AMThis is a nice long exposure. I love the color and the framing of the area.
Posted by J. Rivera at July 20, 2006 10:15 AMI like where you shot it from
Posted by Andrew at July 20, 2006 10:19 AMwow.
Posted by shula at July 20, 2006 11:47 AMoh my.. those people look weird! alien attack?
Posted by Susie at July 20, 2006 01:58 PMVeri nice angle... Congrats!
Posted by Ovidiu at July 20, 2006 03:05 PMTHis is the most beautiful station I've ever seen, to be honest. And it sits innocently in the middle of NY, looking so neutral on the outside!
Posted by Domi at July 20, 2006 03:27 PMOh! Long time since I walked in there - 56 years to be exact. They say if you hang around long enough you'll meet a friend. Didn't happen while I used the washrooms.
On the other hand, in 1967 I ran into my friends, comedian Rich Little & his manager, at a corner of Madison Ave. which is as good a hit as any.
Now this shot does show the oddities of a super wide angle lens. Interesting!
Posted by Hugh Petrie at July 20, 2006 03:45 PMAnother grand interior image perfectly done!
Posted by micki at July 20, 2006 06:04 PMNice shot, I love the angle. The long exposure gives a definite sense of motion. Well done!
Posted by Kevin at July 20, 2006 06:54 PMI was at Grand Central just the other day as well! How DID you do this, Sam? Tripod? Without security hassling you? Ad you are of Iranian descent... how did you manage, when I had trouble just handholding my 5D? My compliments!
I like that. A lot.
I'm wondering how it would be if you took photos at a rock concert. o_o;
Posted by ray at July 20, 2006 10:24 PMGrand and beautiful! Nice shot!
Posted by Dave Mac at July 20, 2006 11:25 PMMore & More space. I feel my monitor bigger and bigger.
Posted by Ravinder at July 21, 2006 12:36 AMwow, those chandeliers hanging gtom the ceiling look like they are on fire or something!
Posted by Peggy at July 21, 2006 01:03 AMGreat choice of shutter speed. The portrayal of "motion" really fits this scene nicely.
Posted by Jonathan at July 21, 2006 01:34 AMVery cool! I love the chandeliers.
Posted by kristarella at July 21, 2006 04:16 AMIt's Grand Central Terminal. Grand Central Station is the post office.

Posted by Steven at July 21, 2006 08:57 AMExcellent photo. I really cant wait to visit grand central station one day!
Posted by Drew at July 23, 2006 02:25 AMGrand Central is the ultimate dance to watch in Manhattan. The Hub humming to the beat of the populace's pulse. And, it is free.
