now this is an interesting pic, good eye
Posted by selam at July 19, 2006 03:24 AMi like the way how u've included so much of the road in the pic which would be useless to most photographers.
Posted by aashish at July 19, 2006 06:14 AMOooh, you came to Oxford. I'm just interested what brought you to the land of many universities? Makes a change from America and was a nice surprise when I saw I recognised the location.
You make it look more pleasant than it really is :P
Posted by Ivan Pope at July 19, 2006 08:54 AMAh, the Folley Bridge corner shop, I know thee well. Great shot :)
Posted by James Wheare at July 19, 2006 08:58 AMnice 'feel' to this one. i like the subject matter and the situation. seems a bit fuzzy though?
Posted by Crank at July 19, 2006 09:36 AMWhat a quaint building. Looks like it might have been a train station or similar many years ago.
As for the bike lane. England has some very bad bike lanes from what I've seen on the web. They ain't got no respect for bikers it seems. (Intentional bad grammar). But you've experienced it I expect - how'd you find it?
Posted by Hugh Petrie at July 19, 2006 10:03 AMi thought that if you cropped the entire whitewashed sky away it'd not have affected the picture in any adverse way. Just my humble opinion. :)
Posted by PlasticTV at July 19, 2006 10:10 AMi like te recurring bicycles in you images
Posted by photoDude at July 19, 2006 10:30 AMThat's a very interesting little place. It looks like it may have been a house at one time. It has an unusually small scale for the style of architecture, unless it was part of a bigger estate at one time, like a gate house.
Posted by Laurie at July 19, 2006 05:53 PMwhy is there a tint of green on the pavement where the bicycle is?...
Posted by christine at July 19, 2006 10:58 PMYou are crazy about bikes!
Posted by Jesse at July 19, 2006 11:17 PMSam I have a question, how do you hire a boat? wait I have another question who's 5 year old drew the bike on the road? LOL hope you have a safe trip home Sam!!!
Posted by Tiffany at July 20, 2006 09:20 AMLike the composition. After the almost clinical verticals and grids of previous photos the warped perspective of the cream building (or is it really that uneven?) takes me by surprise. The overexposure of the sky bothers me a little. I'm being too critical. This IS what England looks like.
Posted by j at July 22, 2006 02:53 PMI like how post before this has the bus lane, and this one has the bike lane.
It's great.
Love the site.
Oh my god! I know exactly where in Oxford this is. Stayed there for 2 months while attending the New York Film Academy.
This photo makes me sad because it reminds me of Oxford and all the fun I had there in those 2 months. I miss what we had there. It was something pretty special.
Posted by Constantin at July 26, 2006 10:11 PMI like all the modes of transportation in 1 photo.
