So this is my first time checking out your site and I have to say I went through it for over an hour looking in detail at every single shot. Absolutely amazing work my friend. Really, your entire eye for design, the compositions, and how much love you have for photography makes me want to get my 20D and lenses and do the same thing.
What I enjoy the most about your work though, it's not too heavily post processed. That definitely adds some unique charm to your site and keep that up.
Glad I'm the first post for the day. :-) Take care.
Posted by ninu at July 2, 2006 02:33 AMhaha, excellent! I love how there is a scene in the background that you can JUST see over the top of the gigantic barrier that is blocking the picture.. but that barrier blocking the picture makes a whole new scene itself to view. I love it!
Posted by mike at July 2, 2006 02:43 AMnice one. i like the green.
Posted by mat at July 2, 2006 04:12 AMVery strong lines although enough happening to lead the eye in and around the image. "thumbsup" !!!
Posted by Susan at July 2, 2006 05:02 AMThe first time you have used your 17-40L in ages!
Posted by Jesse at July 2, 2006 09:05 AMWow! What a totally striking abstract/sureal-like image.
I'm left wondering how they came to choose that color.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at July 2, 2006 01:35 PMI can't help thinking that there is a steamship behind that fence moving slowly to the left, soon to disappear outside the frame of this photo
Posted by Susie at July 2, 2006 01:37 PMNice composition and great stripes! :-)
Posted by Karl Baumann at July 2, 2006 01:53 PMits a micro-Israeli apatheid wall!
Posted by Cant Sayfrankly at July 2, 2006 05:38 PMthe fire hydrant is a spectator ;)
Posted by Peggy at July 2, 2006 07:20 PMdude, you didnt post the israeli comment...y censor the truth just because it controversial..sellout!
Posted by youSuck james at July 2, 2006 11:08 PMThe shadow at the bottom left is distracting. My eye went right to it.
Posted by Eric at July 2, 2006 11:22 PMyesterday I went to harbourfront and i was really happy to see you works displayed there. I recognized most of the photos from your photoblog. And its still amazing.
Posted by christine at July 2, 2006 11:22 PMOh, too, too funny! The hydrant looks like it is standing there with its hands on its hips, glaring in disapproval at the smoke on the other side of the wall. What makes your site so delightful, Sam, is that you sneak in humour every once in a while amidst the beautiful, interesting and thought-provoking. Thanks!
Posted by Kathy at July 3, 2006 12:30 AMI like the way the colors work together in this shot.
Posted by Jonathan at July 3, 2006 03:30 AMNice composition of colors.
Posted by Harlequinpan at July 3, 2006 11:29 AMStrange lack of comments for such a good photo!
I love the background smoke etc, and the green fencng, its a nice tone. The fire hydrant tops it all of, nice simple shot here :)
