It's a creative street shot.

Wow!!! excellent...sabz bashi.

Stunning capture. It really displays the busy-ness (is that a word?) of Times Square. I also like the contrast of the old-school form of transportation in such a modern location. Nice work.

I liked that bike panning photo you posted the other day .. but this one is even more fun.. :)

Yet again another stunning picture... When you take these types of pictures, you do everything right. And you are especially good at keeping the subject of the picture in great clarity...
At'll do... At'll do...

just when i thought your pix could not get better, you come up with another masterpiece, sam!

great shot, love the colors, love the movement, love the new-meets-old look & feel

Really great picture !!

Great exposure and shuttertime.

that is some great juxtaposition! almost poetic!

Posted by stefanie at June 28, 2006 09:18 AM

Wow nice colours! Love the pink-ness.

I banged that horse!

Posted by keith at June 28, 2006 09:29 AM

For these shots that you have done this is my favorite! Wonderful!

My guess is the guy is on the cell phone, but he just looks really bored.

Posted by Laurie at June 28, 2006 09:39 AM

First Comment Ever. I rock. Anyways I like it because I threw up the first time I saw it because I was sooooo dizzy! Talk about being in the momment!

ROCK ON!

Wait..... is that guy talking on his cell phone while driving?.... you know he almost looks bored, maybe dreaming of a cart being pulled by 2 horses.

Posted by Jaybird at June 28, 2006 09:54 AM

well, this one is amazing, but i just can't understand how you did it.....
How can this guy be well focused while everything else is so blurry...
Don't get it....
Anyway, great job, Sam!!!

Haven't been here in a little while, and I see you've been down to the States and perfecting your panning techniques!! Love all the color in this shot!

Posted by micki at June 28, 2006 11:05 AM

I like how the guy and the horse are sharp and the rest isn't. And nice colors & feel to the picture.

Amazing how you can just trip over items like this. Some of us would search for days and not find one odd itme like this. Are you sure you don't have agents with radios out there telling you where it's at? Kidding of course.

Trust you to find a horse in mid New York City, great.

And Laurie may be right - he does look like he's on a cell phone. Looks like a wedding special.

Another great panning shot. You always manage to get good clairity on the subject. Been meaning to try some of these shots out, but haven't had the chance yet.

Bravo!!!

Posted by Harlequinpan at June 28, 2006 11:48 AM

Nice juxtaposition between old and new technology ^^

Posted by Mike at June 28, 2006 12:07 PM

Great shot, I love the way you make pictures with motion in it.

Posted by was frans at June 28, 2006 12:59 PM

Very abstract with all the colour blending together. Not using the magic 1/13 shutter speed on this one, I guess horses don't move as fast as cars ;)

Ottime fotografie, complimenti

Posted by fotografiamo at June 28, 2006 06:57 PM

It amazes me how you can get the panning shots so perfect! Crazy man... :)I wish I could crawl into your head and see the world through your eyes..

...and I see yet another ignorant comment by the one and only.... "K".. why should this suprise me....

Posted by Chrissy :) at June 28, 2006 06:57 PM

Keith doesn't bother me as much as the folks that
say things like; "I think he's on a cell phone" or,
"The man and the horse are not blurry but the rest of the photo is."

They have either never seen your work and/or, do not know that you give your photo's titles.

sorry, my comment is:
It makes my eyes hurt and I like it.

Posted by tommy t at June 28, 2006 08:59 PM

very cool motion effects!!

Posted by daniel at June 28, 2006 10:20 PM

Very nice shot and it has a lot of contrast colours as well as the situation. On one hand you have something really busy and bustling like New York and then you have a something as leisurely as a horse drawn carriage.

I am wondering about these things. I am sure a New Yorker will not sit in it and I will not sit in a similar thing in Bombay but I am more than likely to go for a ride if I am visiting New York and a person from New York will quite likely take a ride in one such thing in Bombay.

great captured motion shot and i like it how you captured that the horse works, works and works and he is just bored and phones home, probably wanna know what diner is. wel done.

Posted by m a r i n u s at June 29, 2006 07:25 AM

How the HELL did you do that? AMAZING!

Posted by Daniel at June 29, 2006 12:14 PM

Excellent execution on the pan and a lovely background to boot!

Posted by Ariel Bravy at June 29, 2006 03:17 PM

My cousin actually took a picture JUST LIKE THIS ONE, only it was a black horse, and in front of Tim Hortons-the funny thing is that it was just luck-he had the camera out, and just waved it up really quickly and clicked the button, and it took it like that! lol!

Posted by Dustin at June 29, 2006 04:47 PM

Actually, I quite enjoy Keith's comments ... they're (almost) always good for an early-morning giggle!

Sam, I love how you've captured the circus-like atmosphere of Times Square here. Marinus, I agree with your comment above. The efforts of this beautiful horse are all the more obvious when you take a look at how relaxed, yet bored, the "driver" looks!
